Hi

Anybody going to either of the shows in Dublin next week?

I'm going and really looking forward to it!!!!!

Any recommendations for when im in Dublin?

I'll be there and shall be going to Dice Bar and also the bar in the Clarence.

I will be wondering around the pubs aswell. Might see you in one. 

The Grand Social is a nice spot. About five mins walk from the venue, across the river. The Thomas House is the best bar in the city by far in my opinion. Takes about 15 mins to walk it though.

Hopefully we get two reasonable different sets, with as much SoS as much thrown in.

We should try getting a meet up arranged, i'll be at the venue both days pretty early, around 1pm/2pm , going to try and get a few people from the andy diamonds church street choir facebook group too.

Jesus that's a bit early no? Can't imagine a queue won't tart forming until five at the earliest!?

I'll be at the olympia at around 1/2 we'll see what the rest of the group thinks, theres no shortage of pubs near the olympia anyway!

I'd be up for meeting up also and queing up early. I've done it loads for Metallica before

I'd suggest somewhere that isn't in temple bar, it will be a rip off.

I think Peadars Kennedys on the same road as the Olympia do cheap pints in the day.

Olympia around 2 pm tomorrow? we have a group meeting there tomorrow, maybe drinks someplace close, the mercantile maybe? its right across the road

The set was quite short with "only" 20 songs. I think it fitted for the Irish audience but it was a bit too slow for me and my desire to jump around ;-) The venue was absolutely beautiful, the band seemed to have enjoyed themselves and the crowd was good too. I'm not an expert so I don't know what Brian changed but his vocals were amazing that night - so rich, so different, so good.

Loved the story that they (after the release) all agreed that Blue Dahlia should have been on the record instead of Desire ('I still like it, it's just that Blue Dahlia is a better song') but nobody said anything before the release. There were a couple of other funny stories as well, one involving Bon Jovi and the key change in Living On A Prayer....
