2014 new Gaslight Anthem album news (pre-details)

Yeah, I saw it in twitter, my god the excitement is growing

The lead up to a new Gaslight album actually makes me feel like a kid at christmas again. Even the smallest bit of information builds the anticipation that bit more!

Glad to hear it's coming along nicely. Switchfoot and Beck have already released amazing albums this year and a TGA album will be a great way to round it off, especially since U2's new album still has no release date in sight...

I know, but I have to try. I overplayed those Handwritten ones. Hopefully I don't give in.

Does anyone recall how long after they entered the studio for Handwritten that we got actual details about the songs / the album title / etc.?

I know for sure we got the first song and album title in April of 2012. Im guessing they went into the studio in maybe january....I could be wrong though. Probably am.

No, you're right. January through February sounds accurate. And I'm pretty sure "45" dropped on or around April 30th because I remembering thinking it was an awesome birthday present!

They entered the studio around January 19th 2012:

It's not necessarily a matter of getting their shit together. They probably want to time the first single in a way that's not too far away from the release date but far enough that they have some time to build hype. If the album comes out in late august/early September, which seems likely given the timing of everything else, June would make sense. Not that I wouldn't love to get all of it sooner!
