Location: Front row of secondary raised barrier in the standing section (people who have been to the venue will know where I mean), left of centre.



Oh, what a day. Continuing in my recent trend of "what piece of equipment have I forgotten this time", I left my taping hat sitting on my window-sill at home 2.5 hours drive north of the venue. So, I had to clip microphones onto my shirt collars either side of my neck, something I have not done for years. As such, I was unable to mount them as high as I would have liked, nor did I have as much control over their direction as I would have liked. Still, the results were better than I expected. I was actually in a pretty decent position, with largely well behaved audience around me. I listened back to the tape on the long drive back home, and it's a very listenable and pretty accurate representation of what it sounded like to me in the room. Lead vocals are a little low/muddy for my taste, but I always think that. Hey ho. This was the final night of their UK run of shows, and I've not seen any other recordings surface onto DIME (yet). So, it's worth sharing for that reason alone.

Nothing fancy done in Audition. Just a manual 8dB boost to get the levels up.
