Thanks for doing that. Hopefully they do get more info but I don't think it's an accident that it was a brief description. Makes me suspicious though because if you have a great product you wanna tell about it. If you're product is lacking, you don't want to go into much detail and reveal that.

Interesting theory! I hate to buy things when I don't know what I'll get. That's an old discussion, but I think the offers/service of S1D was more accurate, transparent and more open-minded regarding the "contact" /connection to the fans..

tell me about it; I used to have all kinds of info because I had good contacts, and still do to management, but where the label is concerned, it's become a nightmare

I don't care that they're selling the package for half of the price almost a year later. That sort of thing is expected I guess. What bothered me the most was how deceptive Mercury was when it came to the Super Deluxe package, they provided no details about the book. I honestly thought for $50 that the book would be a coffee table book that you would leave out and display, but instead they gave us a tiny flip book. The Super Deluxe edition with autographs should have cost $23 like it does now.

Well at least now I know for sure I won't be buying this. I'm just grateful they had whatever realization they did about the product BEFORE 800 people ordered it. I forget who asked them about more info on the DVD but that persons' question probably prompted them to check with the label and then they found out they had the description wrong. So whoever it was, thank you.

And yeah greasylake I agree, they totally scammed us there. Although I kick myself cuz I should never have paid $60 for it even if it was a nice big book full of pictures.

And yeah I agree, Mercury sucks compared to Side One Dummy.

Nope. And it's not like the vinyl came with a digital download either. Heck, it barely came with a sleeve! What was the 3rd RSD release you're referring to?

The funny thing about the November RSD release is that I go to stores around here in NJ and they have over a dozen of these things colleccting dust on their shelves, priceed at $17 each.

Made too many, priced it too high, packaged poorly. Hardcore fans picked it up at that price but it scared off a lot of other people.

Also, the autographed book/CD thing...don't remind me please.

Still haven't opened mine yet.

Yeah, I asked the guys on RSD.com and they had no info on the content of the DVD. Appaently that's why they contacted the label and realized that their information was wrong. There won't be any DVD that comes with that bundle...

They changed the description right now, as it is saying the bundle would include;

"A hard-bound book of photos of the group and the "Handwritten" CD.

I'm not going to buy the bundle right now, 'cause the DVD of the Terminal 5 show was the only thing I really cared about.

Just regard the latest Handwritten album release. There were a thousand different super, mega, hyper deluxe versions and noone ever knew what he/she'd really get. I just remember how long it took us to find out on how many the blue 12" vinyl was limited.

When the guys were on S1D, we had three or four pre-order versions of one album that were clearly discribed. And if there was still some info missing, you could just contact S1D via mail and be sure to receive a quick answer.

You don't have that with Mercury right now. If you want to find sth. out there's not really a simple way to contact the label. There's a jungle of adresses and anynomity, while the label is keeping all the information secret, and lets the customers buy another product of which they hope it's anything special ...

Yup. Also, the RSD site is now describing this release as containing a live CD. Dunno how much credence to give this.

Maybe if they just had one single store where everything was sold. And one person responsible for product copy that had their facts straight.

Just picked up the "deluxe" copy for RSD. No DVD, only the deluxe CD with a bigger picture booklet of the album art. So disappointed.

Isn't that exactly what was advertised? Live CD with an art book. Unless it was the standard CD, in which case you probably just got the the deluxe version of the album and not the RSD deal.
