Top 10 Songs of 2012

I know this is a bit early as we still have another month of the year left but I wanted something to do before I go to the gym!

Basically wanted to know what peoples' 10 favourite songs that have been released in 2012 are. The stipulations I have made are that there can only be one song per artist just for the sake of variety. Here's mine (not necessarily in order)

This was surprisingly way harder than I expected it to be! TWSS. Honorable mentions: Be Still-The Killers, Poor Boy- Jack White, Youth Without Youth- Metric, Drag My Body- Hot Water Music.

Very tricky this year, it has been an awesome year for music imo.

I'm not sure if I can pick out 10, probably easier to do albums, but here we go;

Most of these are in no real order, except the first one,

#1 - NOFX - One Jealous Again, Again
I'd probably go with both Ship In a Bottle and Coin-Toss Girl from The Bouncing Souls
Casualties - Behind Barbed Wire
The Toy Dolls - Decca's Drinkin' Dilemma

And I don't know... probably some new The Dwarves and Anti-Flag, and of course Menzingers and Teenage Bottlerocket.

I've forgotten what's what this year. Didn't Dropkick drop something at the beginning of the year too? Or was that the end of last? It was solid too.




I dig Mumford and Sons, but I don't know, they're just all the same to me. I'm not complaining, because I like it, but it's not like "HOLY SHIT" anymore.

While i was searching for those 10 tricky songs i just realised all those records i was looking forward to this year where not what i was expecting

don't know, but i thought 2012 had been a year full of great records but it's just that i discovered a lot of new musicians nearly all of the music i listened to the last 300 days was made in 2011 - and only in 2011, so that must have been a hell of a music-year haha

so for the 10 best songs of 2012 i'd go with the little great folky-indie artists

1) Zodiac - "Coming Home"
2) Stefani Reeder - "S.I.S.U"
3) The Gaslight Anthem - "Teenage Rebellion" --> may be "Halloween", but as we did not get the official version i'd go with "Teenage Rebellion" or maybe "Blue Dahlia"
4) Jim Lockey & the Solemn Sun - "England's Dead"
5) Of Monsters and Men - "Little Talks"
6) King Cannons - "Too Young"
7) Amanda Palmer & The Grand Theft Orchestra - "the Bed Song"
8 ) Macklemor X Ryan Lewis - "Wing$"
9) Make Do And Mend - "Desert Lily"
10) Dinosaur Jr. - "Watch the Corners"

This is probably weird for my second post ever, but it looked like so much fun. Okay, I'll try as best as I can to get these in some type of rough order.

Choosing which Menzingers song to go with was tough. Also, here's an oddity, two of my favorite albums this year were the Classics of Love self-titled and Celebration Rock, and I couldn't fit a song from either into my top 10. They are both wicked consistent albums through and through, though.

Downtown Struts might've gotten a bump because it's my song obsession at the moment.

Thanks I do like some country music. It was pretty much always on the radio in the South when I was travelling the States in September. I don't think I have heard that song you mention. I will have to check it out.
