Here it is! In all it's glory, acoustic!

I love the lyrics, it feels like Brian's really opening up on this one Smile

Sympathy, this is my best disguise.
My skin stepped out for my bones to dry up,
for the rest of the world outside...to see.
You see I bleed on the side
It's a part time thing, a private affair
I try to keep it out of the light.

I must confess, I didn't recognize you tonight
Dressed up like my love.

And I hate these things but I always attend,
a little sip of something to take off the edge.
And I make my way through the ghosts in the room,
trying to crack a smile.

And who you supposed to be?
You look like heaven tonight
And me I'm a tomb, a corpse in a suit,
trying to look a little alive.
Are you alright?

I worry sometimes,
are you dressed up to take my life?
Keep it coming, keep it coming.

And I think I saw you for the flash of a moment,
Your broken heart and the body that holds it
I lost your scent in the flash of the party.
The big bright lights, baby, constantly haunt me.
I've never been right, have you ever been lied to?
I think I just saw the same scars upon you.
But is this a disguise? A masquerade for me?
Keep it coming, keep it coming.

And who you supposed to be?
Hey you look just like my love.
And who you supposed to be?
Are you dressed just like my love?
And who you supposed to be?
Hey you look just like my love.
And who you supposed to be?
Are you dressed just like my love for Halloween?

How does he write such awesome lyrics like that?!?!?!?!?

Anyone that's ever felt out of place at a party should absolutely die when they hear that line. It gave me goosebumps.

Hell yes.

How does he do it? Seriously like how? Incredible.

Thanks for typing these up!

No problem.

This song really blows me away. Like the metaphor of a Halloween party - he's dressed up like a corpse but he actually does feel dead inside - is one of the most brilliant things he's written.

I'm so happy they're coming out with this jam soon, if this is where Brian's at writing right now the next record could truly be something special....

Who can't identify in some way with nearly each verse or find a line here that speaks to them?!

Need studio version.

That said. I thought Goodnight Irene from Brian's time on the Revival Tour was just about the best song ever, but I very disappointed by the studio version...

I assume that the Revival CD's are rushed a bit, and I shouldn't be worried this time around?

No need to worry Smile Not when it's a Gaslight project and the poor quality, electric version on youtube sounds awesome
