Free Gaslight Show on Radio 1 24th October

There is a free Radio 1 (UK) show where Gaslight will play live on the 24th October in the Maida Vale studios. Anyone wishing to go has to sign at the following link

Only 2 tickers per person, draw will take place and 80 lucky people will recieve tickets to the show!

I'm never a lucky person so hopefully my luck changes for once

I've applied. Would be pretty cool but I don't often get any response from these type of things!

And I was tempted to apply and fly over in case I won....

that really sucks!!! if you want to fly over yourself cant see the issue

I realise that since this is my first post it must seem like I have just joined so I could boast that I won tickets for this, but I promise I didn't join because of that...

But anyway... does anyone have any idea what the format for this will be? Will there be seats, or will it be a sitting on the floor kinda thing, or a standing thing, do you think? and if it is standing, will it be a standing still and listening nicely, or moving around and dancing type thing?

Its fair enough. The BBC is funded by licence fee payers over here (effectively a tax on UK residents).

I'd love to apply but wouldn't be able to make it due to work.

I think it'll be around 8pm, from what i've heard about last nights R1 Rocks show, the 'support' act were on for around 25 mins and main act were on for around 45 mins. Bear in mind it's during Zane Lowes slot on the radio which ends at 9pm (unless they're extending it for this week) so would all have to be wrapped up for by then.


TGA are also doing the live lounge on Fearne Cottons show (10am- 12:45pm) Live lounge is normally broadcast between 11:30am and 12pm though. And I think it will be an acoustic performance. I wonder what cover they will do??

It was just Brian right? The site says "The Gaslight Anthem in the Live Lounge as part of Radio 1 Rocks" but I only see him...

I was looking to hear an acoustic version of HCMM but that just kind of sucked. I don't know how to describe what he's doing vocally but it just doesn't work for me. To me it comes off like he's crying at times which maybe some people like.
