I'm going to be honest with you though. Those big mosques with original arabic design and everything? They're architectural marvels, but I'm not too keen on seeing them in Sweden. I'm all for their religious freedom but at the same time I'd like to preserve Sweden Swedish as far as culture is concerned. It's impossible to say that without sounding like an ultra bigoted racist but, yeah, whatever. I actually get what you are saying, 100%. It's a hard emotion to put across, but I get ya Yeah, I understand that. Kind of preserve what's already there. Like, moving into an existing building is cool, but don't add something that will stick out like a sore thumb? This looks more like a computer rendering, but this is the one near Nashville islamophobiatoday.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/19212880_BG1.jpg I think it's modest, hell, more modest than most churches. All of those original mosques in the middle east do have beautiful architecture, but I don't see that as something that fits in most countries, at least outside of existing Muslim communities. I feel the same about any religious structure though.

| That seems like it's gonna be pretty heavy going. I would definitely recommend shutting down any electronics and locking yourself in a room to read. It's the only way I'd be able to get through that lot. | |

I'm quite afraid of The Good Earth, The Mayor of Casterbridge, and Sarah's Key. All are more or less 300 pages long, with very small font. The other four are just barely 200 pages long and have much bigger font. Hell, if I read a minimum estimate of 100 pages per day, I will be finished in only 2 and a half weeks! |

Nectar in a Sieve The Awakening Sarah's Key Things Fall Apart The Mayor of Casterbridge The Good Earth Left to Tell: Discoering God Admidst the Rwandan Holocaust Ugh, that stinks! I've seen other summer reading lists where they have like say, 20 books, and the students pick 10 of those to read. Having no choice is just wrong! And I have never read any of those books. All of a sudden I am feeling very uneducated.

Which is fine, but quite frankly I find it difficult to relate to Indian peasant women. I just haven't had the experience necessary to understand their plight The Awakening is going to be especially boring, I think. It's about a woman shedding social norms of gender roles in the turn of the 19th century. Which, I mean, is all well and fine, but I was born in a world where women and me are basically equal, so I don't think I'll quite feel the impact of the book as much. |

Haha, yay for procrastination? I am the worst procrastinator. One of my mottos is from Mr. Tambourine Man, "Forget about today until tomorrow".

The best part is when you're reading, you can get real invested, so maybe the more interesting books I can finish in a day instead of stopping after about a 100. |

Sometimes it can be hard to read books like that, but other times it can be really eye opening learning about different cultures and what people go through. We have it easy! Hopefully once you start reading, the books won't be that bad.

I love books that keep you that hooked. I keep trying to start reading David Copperfield but I'm getting so put off by the size of that thing and I'm worried that it won't have me hooked that much because it's so long.

All of those original mosques in the middle east do have beautiful architecture, but I don't see that as something that fits in most countries, at least outside of existing Muslim communities. I feel the same about any religious structure though. Yeah pretty much. A lot of people on the yes to mosques side of things (Muslims as well as non-muslims) are saying "Well if mosques should be banned then so should churches", but mosques haven't been part of Swedish culture and every day life like churches have been and still are. I'm no religious person by any means and would prefer world wide atheism over anything else, but I still appreciate and love churches as part of my history, heritage and culture, you know? You are right though, I have seen mosques that were quite modest and they did not bother me. Media in Sweden however (Which is extremely far to the left on the political scale) seems to want to obliterate the idea of a Swedish country with Swedish values. It's as if citizens aren't allowed to be patriotic and it kills me.

Simple, straightforward, and made you want to see what happened the characters. Not normally my type of book, but was fun.

I'm just glad I don't procrastinate too badly on things that REAAAALLY matter. "Everybody must get stoned!" I love that song!!! I saw him sing that live at Virginia Tech in 2001. It was so fun! He even laughed a little bit when he changed the lyrics at times.
I don't procrastinate on important things either, just stuff that I don't HAVE to do immediately. "Not immediately" turns into "sometime in this lifetime" for me. He played Nashville a couple years ago, I missed it. Sad times. Ticket prices were even reasonable! I was just completely cut off from know what was going on in town, haha. I'm sure he'll be back before he kicks the bucket though.

I'm sure he'll be back before he kicks the bucket though. Haha, same here! I can put things off for years. One thing that I have to do since I'm on vacation this week is clean my bedroom. It becomes the dumping ground for everything under the sun. I still have Christmas wrapping paper in there! It will get done this week. IT WILL. Probably... No really, it will. What a bummer about missing Bob! I have seen him three times. He doesn't sound nearly as good as he did years ago, but he still puts on a good show. He's a legend after all! He was always my favorite artist until Gaslight came along. I'm sure you'll get to see him at some point. I think he's going to be on this neverending tour until the day he dies. It's who he is.
