I have a very bad feeling that joining this forum is going to lead me to getting a record player and a vinyl collection, which I can't afford, especially after spending all my money on TGA tix.

The sooner you get into it the better. I've probably spent more money than I'd care to know on OOP records. I used to listen to a lot of metal, which seems to get ridiculously expensive when it's out of print.

At the very least, if you care about limited runs, buy them now, listen later!

Records are the best! Music just can't sound that good coming from a CD player or iPod. It loses some of its magic.

Paddy, let me know if you like Handwritten better on vinyl when you get around to listening to it. Smile

Will you wear cotton clothes, or is it just cotton balls/q-tips that gross you out? (sorry if the question is grossing you out, I'm just really curious!)

it's okay, i can handle it Smile

i can wear cotton. it's just cotton balls/Q-tips that i can't take. for me it's like the physical equivalent of nails on a chalkboard. it makes me cringe and shudder, it's almost painful.

i was really surprised when i realized no one else i knew had the same reaction to it!

I have that reaction to stickiness from tape, Band Aids, kids' goobery fingers, etc. I can't handle it. Thank goodness for compulsive hand washing!

blame it on the O-O-O-O-O-OCD ??

Haha, Milli Vanilli meets psychology! Clap

Yep, that's the sensory part of it for me. That and having to feel symmetrical.

Haha, I dunno if that'll change my mind. I love the album and all, just 59 and Sink Or Swim take the cake for me. <3

when we get older (much older), we should move into a house in Florida together, a la The Golden Girls. and we'll keep everything symmetrical.

and you can stop me from getting too raunchy when i sit on the porch in the afternoon drinking JD straight outta the bottle and whistle @ the cute high school boys getting off the bus.

Very Happy

I love the packaging for Handwritten though. 180gram is just sooooo superior. Wish more people would use it. Only have a handful of releases on it.

No, for me it's more about rearranging things that could be symmetrical but aren't. And I've made my mom get rid of furniture that wasn't symmetrical. It drove me crazy to look at it.

Eh, I've heard a lot of pressing plants will actually put a bit more into quality control on 180gram + releases, since they tend to be marketed towards audiophiles, so I guess that probably has more to do with it post-mix.

Probably a myth that pic discs sound worse too, but I swear, all of mine pop and crack so damn much, haha.
