| Can't believe these guys haven't been mentioned, looking down the list of bands I love in this section being the ones that lead me to love TGA. Lucero have got to appeal to some of you guys , with their punk attitude coupled with a more trad American folky inclination. The Lucero guys are friendly down to earth individuals who work really hard and tour their bollocks off. Sound familiar? | |

| Yeah, dude, they're real good. Tennessee is a real solid album. love their Kiss the Bottle cover too. the live version and acoustic version are both better than the album version though | |

| Ha that song is the reason I heard of them, someone on the Jawbreaker board posted the song waaaaay back when and I went out and tracked down everything I could. Great live band too, saw them twice in the last 12 months but sadly they are'nt that well known in the Uk and they didn't draw the crowd they deserved. Had a beer with them after the gig , but that ain't exactly a big deal ....those boys drink!!!! Ben was swigging from a bottle of Jamesons onstage. Kevin Devine was great too that night, real nice guy too. I'd recommend him too. | |

| i just heard Lucero signed a 4 album deal with Universal. hope that doesn't mean that Ben's solo album is the end of Lucero as we know it... | |

| These guys are a pretty recent obsession of mine, but I can't seem to listen to much else these days. They're awesome. I think I listened to "Sixteen" for a week straight. | |

| Lucero is one of my favorite bands. have seen them 6 times in the last year, sort of. 3 of the full band and 3 of ben solo. LOVE THEM. hah. i've got some really good recordings of them as well. wil post those soon. Ben even used one of my recordings for a track on the Revival Road CD he, Chuck Ragan and Tim Barry put out for the Revival Tour last year. "Last Night in Town" is the track. neat! | |

| I have to admit I'd hadn't heard of them until I stumbled across this thread, but I've listened to some some samples of there stuff just breifly. I think when I get a chance I'll definately look into listening to them in more depth. |

| Anybody at the show last night (4-23) at the Southgate house? Great show... even though they were so drunk by the end they couldn't even play/sing their own songs! They were having a good time.

| yeah i saw that about 2 weeks ago. i was trying to figure out if that live video of "San Francisco" is overdubbed with the album version, 'cause it sounds just like it. the sound's too perfect | |

| yeah, it's fake... they just overdubbed crowd noise you can see them doing it on one of the behind the scenes videos. But that is to be expected on a TV show. Rarely other than late night stuff do bands actually play when they are plugged in a show.
Ben Nichols.. an MTV actor... lol still sounds funny. Good for them though. | |

| Finally got hold of some stuff by these guys, namely 'Tennessee'. I think I heard somewhere this was their best album. Given it a couple of listens and think it's really good, will definately look into some of their other stuff. |

| i personally think Nobody's Darlings is better than Tennessee, though each has one song that is waaay too long and slow (Noon as Dark as Midnight and Here at the Starlite, respectively). Tennessee has a lot of their best songs, but Nobody's Darlings is pretty much flawless, and there are a few tracks on Tennessee that i could do without | |
