PostSubject: Gaslight Fans   Gaslight Fans Icon_minitimeFri Jul 27, 2012 2:11 am

One thing about TGA that I've always loved, is their fan community. I love how I'm guaranteed to see familiar faces at any Gaslight show that I go to. I've seen several of the same faces many times, and everyone is always super friendly. Even though during the show, the crowd can get a bit rough, it seems as if most of the people in the crowd are actually pretty cool and aren't so feisty in the crowd.

I also love how after all of the shows, the fans aren't out of control when meeting the band. I think that's why the band loves meeting the fans so much as well.

Random thoughts, but I figured it'd be nice to share.

Me too! Did you meet the band after the Convention Hall show? You look oftly familiar and your band name rings a bell. Pretty sure my friend and I hung out with you and a few of your friends in the rain waiting for Brian and Alex.

It is amazing given how many more people the band is now attracting that, generally, the fan base is a pretty cool group. I've met so many nice people on this board and at shows. It makes it much more worth it to like something when you have others you share the experience with!

I agree. I think there's a few crazies (mostly in the category of 'stalker girls') and a some jerks who don't respect the crowd or the band (mainly the idiots who shout over Brian) but the vast majority of the fan base is not only okay but like really really awesome. Even at Webster Hall, with all the jerks there, I met a number of really wonderful people too.

Also haven't now waited in line since 1pm twice I've had the chance to observe this and I think it's really cool how even the dedicated fans don't bug them when they're just trying to go between the bus and the venue or a restaurant before a show.

In the parking lot near the boardwalk right near where we had to wait in line to enter the venue. We met one of the Alex's and Brian, not Benny though.

I saw you called Benny an asshole on Twitter today and he didn't take too kindly to it. Did you really think that's what the "fan community" you referred to is about? Pretty dumb.

Yeah, I was totally joking. I deleted it though. I certainly didn't mean it the way it seemed. It was completely out of humor. I guess it was just taken the wrong way. I apologize.

You gotta be careful with the internet man (i'm sure you know this) but especially with people who don't know you that well and maybe can't tell you're joking. I didn't see your tweet but even if you've chatted with Benny a few times he might not immediately think "oh this is said jokingly".

Lot of us have done shit like this though so cool down other people. and when in doubt, use emoticons cheers ! You get this one this time.. Frying Pan

For future reference, just keep in mind that liking a band does not make them your "boys" with the accompanying leeway to break balls like that.

I think he just miscalculated Benny's sense of humor. Obviously he feels bad and apologized.

Why would you care if they/he smoked cannabis anyway? (I'm not one to hold grudges, just wondering)

We've had many interesting conversations about cannabis in the past. I don't give a shit whether he smokes or not. It's something we end up talking about every single time we meet.
