I'm listening to a recording of Brian playing an acoustic set in the Ramones Museum in Berlin. Perfect after an almost 12-hour day at uni.

Thanks to season 2 of Peaky Blinders (which imo is the BEST new-ish series out there right now) I'm listening to some awesome music I hadn't heard prior to watching the series

So, Copeland's new album Ixora is officially out today and has been streaming on Spotify since last week. It's their first one since going on hiatus in 2008 and I can't stop listening to it. They put out some of the better albums of the mid-2000's and this one is on par with those, if not better. It's absolutely in the running for Album of the Year and I honestly can't think of a better "comeback" album from any other band.
Most of the stuff isn't on youtube, but here are a couple soundcloud links: https://soundcloud.com/copelandband/disjointed https://soundcloud.com/copelandband/erase

It's great. That is actually what I was going to post. Right now this is in my rotation, and The Decemberists' new one, What a Terrible World, What a Beautiful World. And John Fullbright, Songs.

The Desert Sessions have 12 volumes. I highly recommend listening to more! It's actually a lot of different people playing a lot of different things, so I wouldn't say that they're a band. It's a "musical collective series, founded by Josh Homme in 1997."
I Love all of it.

Staying in-tune with my reputation/running joke of being a walking '90s throwback, I've mostly been listening a looot of Everclear, especially Sparkle & Fade.

You think that's bad? '90s in Belgium were pretty big on Eurodance and that kinda stuff, now that was a crime against good taste and sense. Ever seen Scooter? xD

Does Rob Lynch not qualify as punk? Cuz if he does, I'd probably give him that honor.

In my very unprofessional opinion that song at least really doesn't sound punk. Don't know any of Rob Lynch's other stuff though, but this sounds more like brit-pop or indie rock or something. I'm not very good with genres xD (I myself stick to this for going out tonight music, or maybe 'Barfruit Blues' or 'Hot Soft Lights' )

Been listening to Julien Baker's debut Sprained Ankle pretty much on a loop the last few days. It's easily the saddest and quite possibly the best album I've heard this year. Pretty amazing stuff from a 19-year old who seems like she just came out of nowhere.
Great review and album stream in the link: http://www.stereogum.com/1838372/album-of-the-week-julien-baker-sprained-ankle/franchises/album-of-the-week/
Highlights for me were: Rejoice, Something, and Everybody Does (although all 9 tracks are excellent).
