I don't get it. Why are we doing a tribute act when the actual band is still very much alive and kicking (and affordable to go see live)?

I always think that tribute bands are just a waste of time and lack of creativity, they are good musicians that easily could write goods songs instead of doing songs from another band.

Bleacher's new album "Strange Desire". It's Jack Antonoff, the gutairist from Fun.
Such a happy album. Peeerfect for windows down, sunny day drives.

F*CK YOU @McPhist0 for introducing me to Meg Myers! I've so fallen for her PLUS girls with guitars are just sexy as hell <-not being sexist right there just pointing out a fact.
On other news my local homies "For Them All" just put out an awesome EP called "The Sea" "Part deux" is plain great http://for-them-all.bandcamp.com/track/part-deux

This, if you like the smiths/morrissey and 90's emo you will enjoy this, it's a band from the guitarist of the 90's hardcore band Unbroken.

I've been listening to Matthew Ryan ,ore and more. The guy is a brilliant songwriter and guitar player. I think Gaslight would do a great cover of Guilty

I saw them opening for Tallest Man on Earth two years ago, they were quite good. it was the singer and a drummer, very nice sound.

I...have a new crush. Just from the screen grab of that video (I'm at work, so I can't watch it at the moment).

I didn't pay Molly and the Zombies too much mind when they released their Red Bull Sessions, because all the snafus. Not out of spite, it just sort of killed my enthusiasm and I stopped following the release. But after strongly disliking Get Hurt, I felt a little musically blue balled, so I was like "Well, I'll go back and really give MATZ a listen."
Those 5 songs have been on repeat the last few days. So good. The simple, straightforward approach really does the best justice to Brian's songs (Elsie being the stylistic exception).

Apart from the new Ryan Adams and the Bobby Barnett album I found via this site, Matthew Ryan has occupied my ears a lot recently. His new album coming out next month sounds awesome too. In one interview I saw he claimed it sounded like Crazy Horse mixed with the Replacements with nods to newer bands he likes such as The National....that sounds awesome to say the least.
