I'm hoping this place won't become a ghost town if that happens, but considering that it could, might be worth waiting. Potentially save yourselves (admins) the hassle. Especially considering the biggest complaint I've seen about this site is the search feature. Idk, just my thoughts. I'm perfectly content with how it is. (I don't want mass emails! haha)

It is absolutely terrible logic to not develop a site because you think another site will come out and do it better. Just because they come out with their own forum doesn't mean it will be any better, nor does it mean everyone has to use it. They also may deter from creating their own forum if another community already exists (like this one).

The reason I even brought it up was because they were talking about how hard of a transition it would be. 1 mass email would convert all active users over to the new site within a couple days. I'm not sure why you don't want a mass email, they aren't always bad. *had to close an advert to even reply to this topic, so annoying*

To be honest, it isn't that important. Web development and improvement is a hobby of mine.

Whoops man looks like it got deleted by accident but to respond to one of your main points I remember OK, no big deal if it was an accident.
Another point i made was about people being happy to move if the thread history could be retained. A quick search revealed that there are tools out there that can do it (with some limitations such as losing PMs and passwords).
I think that was about it. Yeah sorry about that.
Send me a link to what you are talking about. Linky linky

They also may deter from creating their own forum if another community already exists (like this one). I'd agree if they never mentioned it in the first place. It may or may not happen, but if the admins here go through all that trouble now, and the 45rpm club decides to get moving on theirs and it goes up in 6 months and this place becomes a ghost town, that'd kinda suck. However, it may not happen. Or, if it does happen, everyone might stick around . Just saying that since this isn't a huge issue, it may be worth waiting a bit. Also, can someone answer Laurence's question please He's bumped it like 4 times.

| Here's Brian's bit about the official forum: - Quote :
- 2. The Forum, this is an Official Gaslight Forum, but it’s not the only one… we also have a Fan Run forum called Dimestore Saints (https://thegaslightanthem.forumotion.com/) and you can choose whatever you want to use. The Dimestore Forum is great and I back it so that’s gonna stay for fans by fans. I guess we’ll try to do some different stuff on our forums, like official bootlegs and things like that. But as with the 10 Club, all the things take time, so it won’t all be ready to go at once. But we will try to have special things at our Official Forum from time to time, but for consistent and up to the minute stuff, Dimestore Saints is a great place to check out and hang with some really nice people.
From http://thegaslightanthem.tumblr.com/day/2012/06/21 That was from 6 months ago. I don't know what's involved with setting up a board but surely it doesn't take 6 months?

| Help !
I'm a 50+ year old fan who is useless with technology and can just about post and send a message. Problem is - I sent a message to Enola yesterday on the Ticket Sale/Exchange thread but it does not show in my Sent message box. Instead, it is in my Outbox. So I don't know if Enola has received my message. Even I know that a message in an outbox usually means it hasn't been sent.
I have tried re-sending. I get a message at the time saying "sent" - but it clearly hasn't. Can you help please? I need that ticket for Bristol !!
By the way, I remember a similar thing happened when I contacted Plugga in October last year. But she seemed eventually to get my messages.
Also, FAQ says contact Mods if in need of help. But how do I find out who are Mods? Where is there a list? I found something indicating Mods' names are highlighted in different colours. But there must be quick way to find them without trawling loads of pages?
Hope you can help. Regards - Goonerginge

| I think that the message appears in the outbox until it has been read by the recipient, and only then does it move to the sentbox. That way you know whether your message has been read or not.
I can't find an easy way to get a list of mods. Off the top of my head you've got: steady now steady now, enola, Kropotkin, Bea, oldgospelchoir, Debonair. There are probably more but I can't remember for now.

Thanks. Sorry to cause a problem. I just didn't know if you had received my message because it still showed in my Out box instead of Sent. I now know that this is normal. Regards.

| I think the person who created it was just trying to say "all inclusive" so 100 mini threads wouldn't open up lol. How about something to the effect of - hot water music (and related acts) ? | |
