Semi-romance issue: This girl I've been messaging sent me a message getting on for like 1000 words. It's basically an essay. Is that normal?

It was a bit to do with some volunteering she was doing and some other small talk, but it just seemed like a lot to write about to someone she doesn't really know.

Lorraine, I totally get what you've been talking about now. Lucero is awesome!

Met her at a party a while back and only talked a bit, but met her at another party a few weeks ago and really hit it off. I'm not really sure how I feel yet (might be something to do with it being like a year since I've had proper feelings for anyone) but we'll see what happens.

Look. Either you like her or you don't. We all know right off the bat whether we're attracted or not. If you're bored with what she's saying I am guessing you are not that into her. If Ben Nichols wrote me a thousand word essay I'd read it over and over til he wrote me another.

But to answer your question, I think yes it's normal for someone to write a lot if you don't have the luxury of hanging out every day. If she was a total stranger, maybe it'd be weird. But I think this is her way of letting you get to know her.

What Lorraine said. If you like her, you won't be bored with her long messages. If a guy I liked wrote me a thousand words on anything just because he wanted to, I would love it. And I would probably save the message because I'm a sentimental sap like that. In fact, I have saved notes like that before.

My neck just cracked really loudly. I don't know if this is good or bad. I didn't feel anything though!

OK then the verdict is: Yes, it's normal.

Unless it's about how she wants to perform Satanic rituals on you. Then, not so much.
