Just went to the Asbury Lanes last night to catch W/IFS and HOLY CRAP they changed the whole back area! It is basically a legit venue now. Anyone know when it changed? I was last there in December to see Timeshares and Static Radio. Also the marquee was finally fixed after two years. Place rules so much and I gotta go more this summer.

Ah, my foot was a bit sore. I just hope the doc was right and it's tendonitis, and will be better in a couple weeks. It's usually sore in the morning tho, so hard to say.

The bowling pin part of the sign was destroyed during a hurricane here 2 years ago. It just got fixed sometime between December and now. The inside additions also looked great!

That stage is completely gone, and they now have a higher stage (about the same as the church in philly). They also put up really high barriers to truly separate the stage from the lanes. They added a bar that is now connected to the snack bar and they got rid of all of that art and tables. They still have the lounge though. and Ms. Pac Man, can't forget about her.

I checked my pics from March and the pin was missing. I kinda don't think it was fixed in April either, so I guess it was recently madeover.
So they have real barriers now and not just benches that we all hopped over anyway? Can people still bowl? During Tim Barry there was a lane open. It was kinda weird.

The barriers felt good because they were only about 4 feet tall and just separated the music and bowling a little bit. People weren't bowling last night but you can still bowl and watch the band. My bud stagedove off of the barrier thing, so they are a-ok in my book. Also they got rid of those big obnoxious blocks that people sat down on/stood up on in the middle of the floor.
I'll probably go back and see Teenage Bottlerocket and Nothington later this summer. I'd say the place can now hold around 325 as opposed to 275 with all the changes they made.
