It will be on it's way, they can only track items within the US, once it leaves the US, it no longer shows up on their system Smile

Hmmmm...new Pearl Jam site on the way, and a new Gaslight site on the way...

coincidence? What with the fan-club talk as well...

Pearl Jam does almost everything in house, which is good and bad. Historically, the 10c's website/online ticketing has been the biggest negative. The website notoriously crashes at every ticket onsale, forums crash frequently, etc. Hopefully they hired someone outside the band's inner circle to redesign the webpage.

Gaslight's website desperately needs to be redone and from Brian's description, he's largely trying to mimic the 10 club with their new fan club. Not sure what the coincidence would be though, I'm sure these are totally separate events. My morning jacket just redid their whole site/fanclub and it's much improved.

The crowd that do Pearl Jams, also have something to do with Soundgarden. Honestly, I hope that Gaslight steer clear of the PJ model and investigate different methods, more successful methods.

On my way to work I realized that I am way too Jimmy-like this morning. Yikes! I'm really sorry about all of the mopiness this morning. So now I will share with you the absurdity that made me laugh at my crazy life.

As I was getting into the car, I yawned and a bug flew in my mouth. And then I swallowed it! Gross! Then it happened again when I was walking up the girls' driveway! Shocked My hands were full of stuff and I couldn't cover my mouth, so I ate two bugs this morning. Then when I walked into their house, the older one jumped at me from behind the door and tackled me, causing me to stumble back and hit my head on the banister, which she thought was hilarious. She was laughing so hard it made me laugh! Then when I was helping the younger one with her violin practice, she got a little carried away with the music and poked me in the eye with her bow. She was upset at first until I started laughing. I was just like, "What is going on today?! Too many crazy things are happening!" Then she said, "You know what will make the day fun and not so crazy? Buying hi-top sneakers and getting sailor tattoos! C'mon, let's go get some before school!" I laughed so hard at that! My little wild child...

So between my bug breakfast, bumping my head, and nearly losing an eye in a freak violin accident, hi-top sneakers and sailor tattoos makes everything better. And the humor of kids. At least I can laugh at my insane life! Razz And now I'm going to try to teach them some Spanish before school. Adios amigos! Very Happy

Hey Irish! Sounds like you've had a rough morning. Hopefully it is getting better? I think you should totally take up that advice of getting some Hi-top sneakers! Smile I know it would make me feel better. Not sure about the sailor tattoos though... that might hurt, but only temporarily I guess. haha

^ and I hope TGA's fan club does fair better than Pearl Jam's too.... Shocked

I 100% agree with this, I think the 10 club model is not one to mimic. The My Morning Jacket one is however, bu that's because they are using a professional company who knows what they are doing. They're fan club is only a year old, but they are already doing things PJ has never considered (soundcheck viewing parties, free show downloads, etc.)

And you're right, all things soundgarden are being run by PJ people, but I doubt there is a connection in regards to the website. Hopefully Brian is just ingratiating himself to Matt and that can lead to some PJ opening slots, although I'd rather see TGA in a club.

Eddie did go out of his way to come see them perform at hyde park in '09 and introduced himself to them after their set. WHo knows, it'd be cool for sure.

Hey Konrad! wave

I'm hanging in there, I'm just TIRED! I feel like I didn't sleep at all last night (because I hardly did). I'll be okay though. The kids definitely brought my mood up this morning. Smile I was actually just looking at Converse's website contemplating buying a new pair of All Stars that I don't need but I want. Hmm...maybe this summer when I make some overtime! And the tattoos, if I wasn't such a baby who couldn't handle pain, I would totally get a Gaslight-inspired tattoo. But that won't happen because I would probably pass out the second I felt the pain! Rolling Eyes

So how are you today? Any leads on jobs?

There's a few other successful fan clubs/sites out there that can be modelled on, as well as the excellent MMJ one, Metallica, Iron Maiden, DMB and the Jack White one are a few examples.

Pearl Jam might have been innovative in some of the stuff they were trying to get set up (Vault and bootlegs been the two big examples) but they have fallen so far behind, Black Crowes have a fantastic Vault setup, it's strange to see Pearl Jam stagnate over so many of these points that are simple to fix. The price as well is crazy, and we all know how sloppy it is ran as a whole in regards to postage, gifts, tickets.

I'm hoping that Gaslight do go with a professional company, it could open up many avenues for them, that would be exciting for all of us, their love of vinyl for one...

Several of the fan clubs you mention are run through music today. I told Bierman on PJ Radio last year that he should outsorce at least the ticketing aspect, then they used some halfassed company and that failed and then they claimed it was "sabotage".

When the ten club advanced beyond a mail newsletter, they should have hired new people. Kat and Sea were running an AOL fan site, and that's who they brought on to run the online component. The whole thing sucks in that regard.

Gaslight has to use a professional company, because they don't have the internal resources. Luckily now that they are on a major label, the label will help a lot with that (or they should)

I also really, really doubt we see a Gaslight fan club before next year. Hopefully they get one in place, before it is really needed for tickets.

Hey! That's good. Yeah, those Converse all-stars seem pretty rocking. Did you guys know they were the first types of shoes guys used to boulder/rock climb in?? Pretty crazy. I guess they just put some kind of sticky stuff on the bottoms and used them to climb with. Smile

Yeah, not sure if I could get a tat either. But, maybe someday, if I get drunk enough. drunken lol

Ah, I'm doing fairly well. My strained pinky is finally doing better. But, I have an annoying bone bruise on my right knee now. (Only on the surface, so hopefully it'll heal quick). One lead on a job. My old lawn service company (which is in western WA) might be hiring... I should find out in the next couple days. So, crossing my fingers there. Not much other than that tho. Sad But, I keep looking.

Brian mentioned in the tumblr update, that the fan club is on the way soon. We shall see.

Well, as we all know, Bierman isn't exactly much of a stand-up guy, so naturally would look for the first excuse to blame someone else for his half arsed approach. The whole PJ thing needs tore up and re-done, sure, let people keep their membership numbers and such, but implement a better system, it's not like they are down to their last dollar.

Then again...people buy the shit, people stick up for their excuses, and thus allow the huge fault to keep running.

Yea, I think Brian wants it to come soon, but it takes awhile to get something like that up. Unless they use some kind of prepackaged deal from a company like music today, that might happen faster.

Bierman got the job because he's Jeff's friend. The band thinks the 10c does a great job, and most fans kiss their ass (except when the ticketing thing really hit the fan last year). For what it's worth, I despise Synergy mainly because like you said, people stick up for their excuses and buy their shit. When people are actually able to fork over their money and buy tickets, they act like the 10club cleared the child of cancer. I can't spend more than 5 min on that site without getting ill.

From what Bierman told me (and this could be bullshit) the reason for a lot of the issues they had, and why they didn't want to outsource ticketing, is because of their internal database. Clearly, that database needs to be replaced. I HOPE that is part of the reason for their website rebuild, which will lead to better ticketing down the road through a better system. That's giving them a lot of credit that they haven't shown they deserve however.

I had no idea that Converse were used for rock climbing. How weird! They don't have the best traction, so they must have used something to help them out. Pine tar maybe? scratch

I'm glad your finger is doing better! But now your knee?! No more injuries! That's great that you have a lead on a job though, and in Western WA where you want to live! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you too. Very Happy

I'm off to work now. Hasta luego!

I vaguely recall someone using post count as a way of saying their opinion was more valid. That was just sad.

Facebook rant/question how do I make it so I can't see friends comment on their non-mutal friends photos/status updates? Especiall when the photo is of someone that just passed away. The other time it was a baby, today it was of a happy dog who apparently just died. Screw that stupid Facebook. Maybe it's my destiny to come up with a new social networking site that doesn't completely ruin lives by being overly informational.

Yep, and the other poster's retort was the fact that he had joined in 2010 and the one with the higher post count had only just joined in May.

Right, someone suggested that I came out of nowhere. I pointed out that I'd been a member since 2010 and he had for 2 monts, so who came out of nowhere. I could care less when anyone joined.
