That's terrible! The only time my hometown has been in the news that I can remember is because on Christmas (I think) a few years ago, this guy murdered his family and might have set fire to the house too. That happened in the town I grew up in, and I heard about it all the way across the country. Sad stuff. yeah, this was similar-- apparently the guy went in, shot his live in girlfriend, her daughter, daughter's boyfriend, and daughter's 18 month old daughter. who knows why, but the guy was obviously a nutjob, white supremacist, racist, border patrol freak, oy vay...

That is just so horrible. I will never understand how someone can be so insane that they hurt or kill a child. That's like a knife in my heart. Now something good needs to happen in your town to turn its reputation around! I'm tired! Today is a 12 hour work day and I still have 4.5 hours to go. The girls didn't have school today, so we did some lessons here, played a lot, and went outside in the miserable heat where I taught the little one how to ride a two wheeler. She was so excited, it was just a really cool moment. And now it's nap time!

Yeah, the little one is pretty easy going, but she's my wild child. She has so much energy and is always on the go, but she's not high strung like the seven year old, who is a neurotic, overly sensitive, too-smart-for-her-own-good kid who is more like me than anyone on the planet. I think that's why I ended up being their nanny, because she needs me to help her make sense of what goes on in her head. The little one is a daredevil and scares me half to death sometimes, but I don't worry about her like I do with the older one. My job can be very stressful, but it's worth it because I love those kids more than life itself.

| Yeah, I do love my job. I may not make much money or have any benefits, but none of that matters because I get to make a difference in their lives, see them grow and change everyday, and experience things that only happen once - the first words, first steps, learning to read, etc. There is no explaining how wonderful those moments are. I have been here for everything.
Oh my gosh, yes, the seven year old drives me crazy because she is so much like me! I'll go home at night and complain about the annoying things she does, and my family laughs and laughs because I was the same way when I was a kid. She's my mini me. And we are both incredibly stubborn and think we are always right (but I am always right!!!), so it can be a challenge. What's weird though, is that the little one is just like the other side of my personality. She is goofy, free-spirited, extremely confident, and is a little rocker chick. She is definitely the black sheep in her family! It's weird how both of the girls are more like me than like their parents, just in different ways. Maybe nurture does trump nature!

Yeah it's great plus it was produced by Brendan O'Brien. Makes me even more excited for Handwritten There's only a couple of songs on Scars and Stories I'm not that keen on, overall it is a very good album.
