| The girl at the counter of the store smiled at me so I asked her to go out but she said no. I guess I'm just not fit for this world. | |

Plugga has another man on her mind. I think she's been quite obvious about that. It's your fault for chasing when you know you're no competition for Mr. Turner.

I give it a 6 out of 10. Honestly though i dont have much to talk about or add to the dating stuff. I've been in relationships before, not in one currently, and I'm fine with that.

| Was just reading a new interview with Vincent Kartheiser. He said this: - Quote :
- Q: What it is about John Slattery that makes him able to pull that off?
A: Immense charm... Even if I am a little charming, next to him it's like a candle next to the sun. John Slattery is truly charming. He is as charming as Jon Hamm is debonair. WHAT! I knew it. Jon Hamm is a mod on this board. #humor

| My girlfriend told me the other night she didn't think I was responsible enough to have a family with. We've been dating 7 months!!!! she thinks this because I don't have a job and can't take her out places like other couples do, I'm interning at a radio station trying to get a job there. I can't get a job because I want to make a good impression on the radio station. things haven't been the same since she told me. It's like, I feel like shit guys, I want to make her happy, i love her. But right now I can't and it kills me. money has never and will never mean anything to me but this internship is important because it's my foot in the door on the radio industry, the other night she called it a "kind of a job". How do you continue to date and love someone who is completely unhappy with you and who you are? | |

Oh man, Cody, I'm so sorry that you are going through this. Your girlfriend should realize that an internship can be a huge stepping stone to breaking into a field, especially one in the entertainment industry (i.e. radio, TV, film, etc.). And if you are enjoying what you are doing and it's part of your plan for what you want to do in the future, don't let anyone talk you into giving it up. This might sound idealistic or whatever, but I think that when people are in a relationship, they should support each other (goals and dreams included) and not try to change who the other person is. No one should make the person they love feel like crap - ever. I hope this doesn't come across as cold or harsh because that's not how I mean it at all, but maybe if your girlfriend is that concerned about money and jobs and going out and you're not, and she's not accepting you for the person you are, maybe you guys aren't right for each other.

I've had a girlfriend who had a similar issue with me. I didn't have no job and I wasn't into going out myself, so I wasn't taking her out either. When she confronted me, I felt attacked and didn't understand. It took me a while to realize why this all happened but it was pretty damn obvious actually. Back then, I had no passion for anything. I didn't do shit. I had very little to share, very few experiences, no ambition and no job or money. All I did was sit at home playing video games and listening to music when I wasn't at college. I can't blame her for being fed up with that after a while and leaving. In your case however, it's different. You're not being a bum that has no goal. You are passionate about getting into the radio world and you're actively working on it. I understand that a girl might be disappointed with not going on dates/vacations/dinners very often (especially if she has a group of friends who are all with jocks who go sailing every weekend (god that sucked)). We obviously don't know the situation exactly, but generally speaking, following your dreams is the way to go and our loved ones should be supportive of us on the way there. Shit sucks bro, I think you guys really need to talk if it's that big of an issue for her.

| I'm taking her out today to a nice Japanese place she loves before I go to work (internship). We'll see how it goes. she's currently pissed off at me because I haven't been texting much, just scared to do anything right now, don't want to invest more of me and her just end up leaving. Thanks guys for your comments, means a lot. thanks irish, I told her the other day, "If you want someone who can take you out and spend money on you go find someone like that, but you wont find anyone else who will love you as much as I do" and she even said the other day, "I wish I was supportive of you rather than being so negative all the time" so maybe there's change, I don't know. we'll see. and loazis, sailing?!?! I LOVE SAILING but didn't realized jocks did it, I'd sail their asses off!

| Well, perhaps jock isn't the correct word, but here in Holland we have this stereotype student guy who has popped collars, rich parents, plays hockey (the grass version, not the awesome one on ice mind you) and sails. Not entirely accurate, but you can imagine that I felt intimidated as an introvert nerd! Good to hear you guys are gonna talk today. From what I've gathered, you're a smart and honest guy, be up front and you'll do fine | |

That really sucks to hear man. Sounds like she's just trying to find a reason for this not to work out, and to me that seems a bit irrational. (Don't ever tell her she's being irrational either. Wouldn't go down well )

I played in a men's (field) hockey team when I was 15. The number of injuries I picked up was ridiculous

That makes me think of "Not another soul can love you like my rotten bones do." Just another example of TGA's lyrics describing life perfectly. Since your girlfriend realizes that she's being negative and should be supportive instead, maybe there is a possibility that she will wake up and not let a relationship end because of money or a job. Those things never make a relationship successful anyway. I hope she figures that out really soon and things improve for you, Cody.
