Need Information about Brian for a school project

Hi! My name is Erin and I'm in fourth grade and I'm doing a new Social Studies project. It is about a famous person born in New Jersey. I chose Brian. I go to The Acadamy of the Most Blessed Sacrament in Franklin Lakes. My dad got me to like The Gaslight Anthem and my whole family went to the show in Asbury Park in December. I'm not trying to be a stalker or anything , but I just need all the information about Brian as I could get. Thanks!!!

PS From Erin's father: This is totally on the level. Both of my kids (12 and 9) are big fans. It's so refreshing to hear them listening to meaningful, cool music - it's sure not what their friends are listening to. Any help you can give Erin would be greatly appreciated. She's got the wikipedia info but is looking for more. Thanks to all!!

Off the top of my head, these are some random facts about Brian Fallon:
-He doesn't drink (Someone might have to confirm this for me)
-His favorite band is Pearl Jam, some of this other influences include Bob Dylan, The Clash and Bruce Springsteen
-He has a lot of tattoos, because when he was a kid he saw Mike Ness from Social Distortion and thought "I want to look cool like that"

Another one. He has played onstage with Bruce Springsteen at least 2 or 3 times. He was a carpentder before he hit it big. He was in two bands before Gaslight, He has also dealt with a broken heart at least 3 times-Hence his tattoo (You made me cry)

his dream was to open a sweet auto garage

Although he has a lot of tattoos he dislikes a lot of them now

Hes lives in Red Bank now after a brief spell living in Brooklyn where his wife is from.

It was this period in Brooklyn when he wrote the American Slang album.

He misses his friends and family a lot when hes on tour. I know it goes with out saying but Brian seems particularly affected by this more than other artists Ive met.

A few more bits there for you but also I wouldn't rely on the wikipedia stuff as fact. brian himself once tweeted that he was reading the bands wikipedia page and said there was some untrue stuff on there.

He is married.

He is a Christian.

His mom was a folk singer in the 60's.

In an interview from 2009 he said that his secret burning desire is to be a gospel singer.

The first concert he ever went to was Depeche Mode in 1990 or '91.

He is also influenced by The Replacements, Rolling Stones, Tom Waits, Tom Petty, Eric Clapton etc.

If you really wanted to be a hit, you should write to the band (or their management) to see if Brian would make an appearance for your project (hey, you never know), or maybe get some sort of signed photo or something to use for the project.

erin, that is so cool that your whole family went to see Gaslight! i haven't got much other than what people have already said, but good luck on your project!

And I thought my younger brother and I (13 and 12) were the youngest fans. To be fair on my way out of the Asbury show I saw a family with a boy and girl your age. Maybe it was you?

Brian was in many other bands before The Gaslight Anthem called Amping Cooper, Surrogate McKenzie, Brian Fallon & The Cinncinnati Rail Tie (Only Pre-Gaslight worth listening to in my opinion) and This Charming Man. Not sure if it was when he was 15 or 17 but somewhere around that age he recorded his first album called "The Coffeehouse Sessions" it had a limited release on Cassette Tape.

He was born in Red Bank, NJ at Riverview Medical Hospital. Also, I know above someone said he currently lives in Red Bank, but at the Asbury Park show in December when I was lucky enough to meet him, he said he lived down the block from the convention center (in Asbury Park still).

Bruce Springsteen visites him often, at random moments. He said once that Bruce came in while Brian's friends we're around, and they all were looking like 'the fuck, bruce springsteen is here'

Rumor has it that Brian has been able to visit Bruce whenever needed (within reason)

Long time lurker but I just wanted to add that Brian doesn't live in Red Bank or Asbury Park, he actually lives in Fair Haven close by where my wife grew up. About 5 houses down from my in-laws. Close to Red Bank.

I could tell you the exact address but I'd have to kill you before you had a chance to go stalk him out.

Yeah I haven't met him yet but I keep thinking at some point I have to see him around. Trust me, I am always keeping my head up just in case.
