| Good news: they have already great songs written quote: "The songs we've written, you don't need tricks or magic or violins; we don't need any sweetener because it's so good and so raw." Biloxi will be on the album quote: "While new song Biloxi Parish is a stone-cold anthem-in-waiting, others bring the tempo down a notch. Fallon describes 45 as "a burner of a song", while Moe nods to his nocturnal side-project THC. It's cinematic - "it kinda moves like a movie", he says. "It'S stuff I learnt from THC, but we put down the jazz instruments and picked up the rock 'n' roll ones." Bad news: quote: "the still untitled record, pencilled in to be released in the autumn .." | |

| That's very exciting!
Good to hear something, I almost forgot this is a Gaslight Anthem forum, the way we bicker about down in the General section.

| All sounds promising although I do like the reminiscent kind of songs too which it sounds like theyre veering away from. Im sure I heard the song was called 'Mae' and not 'Moe' too but I could be wrong, we'll have to wait and see. | |

I kinda wish they didn't, everyone knows biloxi, its a great song, but make it a b-side. That way it frees up a spot for a brand new one

I might be wrong but I also recall that Brian said that they're not sure if they will put it on the new album. But I'm really looking forward to the studio version, to see how much of the roughness stayed.

yeah me too, but someone asked him after the Revival show in Cardiff if Biloxi was going to be on the album and he said yes without even hesitating.

| Really hope that part about the autumn isn't definite. Their music is perfect for the summer when I have the time to drive around and listen to it and really take it in with nothing stressing me out or taking time away that I could spend listening...Plus....I want....it....now... | |

Ditto on everything Jerseyrain said. I'm sure the new album will be totally mind-blowing, but I will miss the songs that give a nod to the old days of rock and roll. And yeah, I think it's "Mae" too. But autumn?! Really?! I was having a really hard time waiting for the summer release, and now to add a few more months to that is going to be pure torture! Or maybe I'm just a little too dramatic and impatient.

| Anyone else disappointed that there aren't gonna be many extra instruments? Even still I'm equally excited by the fact that this one's gonna be more aggressive, I thought American Slang was pretty straight up rock-ish but I'm excited to hear something even more intense. | |
