| Early 2010: Tim Barry-"28th & Stonewall"
first single came out recently, "Thing of the Past": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0FRIL9PQgac&fmt=18
a little iffy for me. too country, too poppy, not heartfelt or personal enough for me. we'll see. i'll keep an open mind. he's put out some incredible songs mixed in with some bad songs on his other albums, so maybe this one is no different

| The album I'm looking forward to in 2010 (beside the TGA one, if indeed it's done by then) is U2's next one. I heard it's going to be called "Songs of Ascent", and it's going to be made up of outtakes and deleted songs from their previous two albums.
I've heard "Winter" and "Mercy" (two songs that leaked, and have a strong possibility of being included), and I think they're more "classic U2" than anything on NLotH.

| I've been listening to more U2 stuff since I saw It Might Get Loud, so I'm looking forward to that album too.
The Dead Weather are supposed to be releasing a new album before the end of the year; even though their debut was this year too!! I know not everyone here really cared for their stuff, but it's worth checking out.

| they've said recently they're going into Studio 606 on February 1, 2010 to record the album, and to expect at late spring 2010 release. it sounds like it might finally be happening now. i'm optimistic
the couple of new songs they've played live (Diamond In the Rough, Bakersfield, Still Alive) are fantastic, so i'm pumped about it

| I'm waiting on Fat's "Wrecktrospective" for a few certain songs... There's a None More Black song, "Slytherin, My Ass!", that I may not have heard yet. Or it could be one of the old demos with a different name. Also there's demos from The Loved Ones, Dead To Me, Lagwagon, and Smoke Or Fire.
Originally it was supposed to be out Nov. 24, but not it's Dec. 1, and Fat Mike is damn good about having albums NOT leak out.

| yeah they're really good. more in the slower, straight up rock style of Sex, Love, and Rock 'n' Roll. very promising
Diamond In the Rough: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4HxuxuP8Maw I got this song off Limewire like 4 years ago. One of the best intros to a song ever, right up there with the Prison Bound intro on Live At the Roxy
Bakersfield: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kni-A46GBd0
Still Alive: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o6K7mDr_YOY
and three new ones i just found, Can't Take It With You: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MnxOioflYQc
I Won't Run No More: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pdo74laI5k4
and I Think I'll Stay: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aVyW-49jfY4

| Other than American Slang and I guess my own (obviously) the only records I'm REALLY looking forward to are Drive-By Truckers and Hold Steady. I was going through a little punk kick for a while but I'm much more interested in pure rock 'n' roll at the moment. | |

| Still looking forward to the new Ted Leo (I don't d/l leaks). Also TGA of course. Ozomatli, G. Love & Special Sauce, Fleet Foxes are some others. I'm not sure if all of those are confirmed but I know Ozo is coming out on 4/20. | |

| I'm fairly excited for the new Menzingers stuff. (Punknews article) Hopefully they'll mix their drums a bit better than they did on Hold On, Dodge. | |

| Always stoked for any Menzingers stuff. I chugged some PBR tall boys with them behind the venue with them before their set.
Ted Leo is okay. I downloaded the leak. I have been trying to get into him, but so far hasn't happened.
The Hold Steady might be the one I'm looking forward to the most not by TGA. The Drive By Truckers record should be good too.
And then there is American Slang.
