Bright Eyes/ Conor Oberst

I just did a search and discovered that there isn't a thread for Conor on here. Unacceptable! There has to be few other fans here, right? I've been a pretty devoted follower of his for years. Bright Eyes, The Mystic Valley Band, Monsters of Folk, and all the other stuff in between, it's all great.

I'm not THAT much into Bright Eyes, but some of their songs are great.

My favorite is An attempt to tip the scales and The calendar hung itself.

Although Fever and Mirrors will always hold a special place in my heart.

I used to have a massive Bright eyes obsession , i think i may revisit it.

But man, I really love them all. Are you a fan of The People's Key? I didn't like it at first, but now I love it to death. Beginner's Mind is just lovely.

Unlike most critics, I love it. It's great to hear Conor sing pop songs with sing along choruses. And I think that 'Ladder Song' is one of the most beautiful songs he has ever written.

Just starting to listen to Bright Eyes. I love I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning, I haven't been able to stop listening the past week. Gonna start getting into their other stuff soon.

Ive found that IWATM and The Story is in the soil are the two best albums. Others that Ive heard haven't really done it for me. I think Bright Eyes are the kind of band that you need to read the lyric book through with the song to gain more appreciation because otherwise they can be quite hard going.

I have been looking forward to this record for a while and really enjoying it so I thought I'll share the link.

I've been meaning to do that since seeing him at Shaky Knees this weekend! I haven't been in a Conor phase for awhile but I think I might be getting into one now... how would you describe the general tone of the album?
