Are the Horrible Crowes finished after Elsie?

Had the pleasure of meeting Alex R. A couple nights ago in the streets of Hoboken NJ. He mentioned that he didn't think Brian and Ian would be making any more music as the Horrible Crowes. I was pretty bummed, but I did get him to sign my horrible crowes t-shirt that i happened to have on me. That cheered me up.

I think it is one of those things that they won't rule out but it will largely depend on whether they have the time to do it.

Since Brian said that he and Ian are already planning a second album, I would go with that and hope it happens. Elsie shouldn't be an only child!

I just saw that TheHorribleCrowes.com is down now. A while back their blogspot got hacked/dropped too. And now add to that Brian has M&TZ and Ian has started up Local Summer. Just thought this would be an interesting bump and mainly, also, to point out their .com is down.

Though i guess the website being down could mean a redesign    stay positive   

even if they aren't planning on doing anything else, i want the website to stay up forever haha

I will never complain about what we get to hear at acoustic shows but must admit...I was secretly rooting for Blood Loss at either of the Crossroads shows

Their online presence has been a mess for a long time. The sites didn't even get updated for the release of the Live album. So I don't think the domain name business is of any real consequence.

That said, with all the new side projects, I don't see how a revival of the Horrible Crowes would fit in creatively. Let's treasure what we have.

Typo? Or Hope so in the sense that it's so good you think anything after would never live up to the success of the first one? I could see a lot of people get disappointed by a new album for sure....

Aha my bad, I meant that as in I want another album from them

Elsie was perfect, and I do not know if they could do another CD to match the quality of the first one.

Doesn't mean they shouldn't try.

I hope they will once do an other one...

Honestly, if Horrible Crowes only ever ends up releasing Elsie and nothing else, I'm okay with that.

I like to think that HC existed just to tell that story.

That's such a beautiful way to put it. I hope they don't do anything other than Elsie. It's one of my favorite albums, and I don't think a follow up could match it by any means.

I don't think that really matters. Even if the follow up was the worst album ever, it wouldn't do anything to diminish Elsie. Every song and every album stands alone on its own merits and isn't worsened by bad material surrounding it. I mean, Rise Against has released three godawful albums in a row, but Revolutions Per Minute is still one of my favorite albums of all time and the terrible bro-rock they've become doesn't change that. I'd personally love another Horrible Crowes record. Maybe it would be good, maybe it wouldn't, but I'd love to hear it.

I could not agree more. Elsie is still going to be perfect no matter what Brian or THC or TGA or Ian or whoever do after this. That's the beauty of recordings, they last forever and are frozen in time somehow. It's our own interpretation that changes...
