Gaslight Anthem is more known for its combination of classic guitar-bass-drums with soulful, punk and loud effects. The Horrible Crowes aims to create a new kind of energy, using sonic arrangements and a more vulnerable feel. "With 'Elsie', we wanted to find out what else is there -- what else are we capable of." according to Fallon. "The Gaslight Anthem is very streamlined. We don't usually use organs and strings and things like that. We wanted to separate what we were doing to something new and something that we could experiment with."
