Our covers of The Horrible Crowes Songs

Great as usual, Holland. Like ThisMachineKillsFascists said, I was surprised by the Call It Off cover! I've never heard a version like that! Did you play the drums on it?

thanks , the drums are played in using a midi keyboard, so i wrote the parts but they aren't played on a real drum kit and then you can quantize them and make them perfectly in time etc The Call it Off one is actually part of a UNI assignment were i have to change the style of a song and add new parts and stuff , such a fun assignment!!

Wow, Holland, I am totally amazed. That was probably the best cover I have ever heard of any song on the planet. I'm not exaggerating! My mom overheard when I was listening and she was shocked that that wasn't Brian Fallon singing Ladykiller. You are that good! Start thinking of yourself as a singer, and a really good one at that. Keep 'em coming!

I'm sorry to overload you with even more praise, but seriously, those covers you post are not like 'oh, nice cover' but actually like REALLY, REALLY good. Not like, 'nice voice' but actually like REALLY, REALLY good.

I really appreciate all the praise , i think i should probably stop covering songs now and try and write some stuff and see how that goes.

Apart from the 35 mins worth of covers i have to make for UNI haha.

I had an English professor who had written a couple novels. He said that even though it took a long time, he would write a novel (or part of a novel), throw it away, rewrite everything, throw it away, etc. until he got it right. The reason being was that in order to be a good writer you had to know exactly where you wanted to go from beginning to end, and you never know that right at the outset.

So maybe you have to write 10 songs and then cull them down into one good one, then rewrite that song 5 times, but keep trying. Would definitely give your stuff a listen based on the quality of your covers.

Mine is a demo of Horrible crowes version of song called joey not great production missing some words hear n there but just trying it out to get an idea to record it properly
