Some songs on Elsie really sound like U2 on the Joshua Tree record. Not only in song arrangements, but Brian also sounds like Bono. Some people already pointed it out, but I decided to make a separate thread about it. I mean songs like Sugar, Last Rites and I Believe Jesus Brought Us Together.

| I'd like to hear them cover the outtake "Wave of Sorrow". | |

| At some point yes. My girlfriend told me they sounded like U2 the first time she heard "I believe Jesus...."
I don't know how to explain this but Elsie's got something "dirty" that Joshua Tree does not have.

| Crush has reminded me of US since the first 30 second clip we were given. | |

| Yes Elsie is more rough around the edges but I think the U2 influence is certainly undeniable. Crush definitely gave me a U2 vibe and adding in the gospel song at the end makes it seem even more like them. The verses of Ladykiller are where I think he sounds the most like Bono though. | |

Yeah, I know what you mean. Joshua Tree almost sounds too clean to me. I can definately hear the simularities between the two, though. |

| I had forgotten about it, but I was just listening to TGA Live at the Wireless and at the end of The Backseat, Brian starts singing I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For. | |

| The coda on crush is the most U2ish part on the album for me, as well as the "no no no"s on sugar. | |

Me too! I´m a long-time U2-fan and last year I discovered The Horrible Crowes. I love them both, but I always thought they are totally different! Am I wrong?

Don't really see the comparison between The Johsua Tree and Elsie - or the bands themselves. I think THC are pretty unique in this day and age, real depth to the work.
