The Gaslight Anthem's "iTunes Session"

I got it yesterday. Can't believe how good it is, particularly vocally. They are stepping up a level, it's so good...and it's only a bunch of covers and old songs! Think what they can do with an album of originals!

where is said autotune in the track?

Yeah especially cause (no offense to Alex) if you ever have heard him sing live, you know he doesn't sing that perfectly, I mean the backing vocals never sound as good live as they do on the records. So i think the backing vocals have always had some autotune in TGA records. Maybe not though, I have no proof, except comparing live to recorded

Alex's part has definitely been tampered with a bit in the recording. It sounds perfectly fine though and I'm really glad he sang on his own here, maybe he will be singing a bit more on the new record??

Well I think nearly every record has some sort of correction, just most is so subtle that you can't tell. Alex may very well be a much better singer when he's not trying to play lead guitar at the same time though.

If you watch this making of American slang at around 1:49, you can hear Alex sing abit, I guess its a liitle better than what he does live

Yeah it sounded weird, I thought that they did some modulation on it. If its something small on that I don't mind it (Although I still dislike it) but when its too obvious I hate it.

Currently on the charts, the iTunes Session is ahead of Beyonce, Blink 182 AND Red Hot Chili Peppers to name a few.

So i thought I'd post this here because this is where(iTunes) the new version of boxer was released.

Brian plays the new version of boxer acousticly but before he explains why he decided to play the song a new way. Won't ruin it, because its funny as hell, but it has to do with the 50th u.s. state. The whole intro is halarious before the song so if this deserves a new thread, admin feel free.

Haha, thanks for that. The explanation got cut off on the version that was on TV. I really like the way he's playing it here though. Not into the one on the iTunes session as much though.

I just got the urge to record a bluegrass version of Boxer sung with a southern drawl...

On a different note, I showed Gaslight's versions of Baba O'Riley and "House of.." to my dad, and here's what he said:
Fantastic covers by Gaslight, especially "House.." is pretty worn out but they manage to spring life into it.
