Folk/rock/punk/DIY band from Melbourne, Australia. They've just released what is technically their 2nd album, titled "No One Gets Lost Anymore" and it is comfortably my favourite release of 2011 so far. Even ahead of Dave Hause's solo LP.

http://www.myspace.com/wilwagner - There's some old solo recordings for free download on this page
http://thesmithstreetband.bandcamp.com/ - There's a free EP and a couple of album preview tracks
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mg3lzrIjAUs - My favourite song. About his sister.

The lead singer started out doing Defiance, Ohio cover sets and earlier this year they supported D,O across Australia. The lyrics are a rambling mess but entirely unique. They rule. Listen if you know what's good for you.

p.s. I think the album proper is on iTunes. Not sure.

I have heard about this band like ages ago and listened to it, but somehow never really liked them that much. But recently theyve become my favorite band at the moment. Throw Me In The River is definitely one of my favorite records from last year.

They are my favorite band for more than a year already. Throw Me In The River is my favorite album of het last few years. And they are one of the best live bands I have seen.

We made a Smithies Facebook group. Feel free to join:

Smith Street Band is opening for Andrew Jackson Jihad in the States in March. Anyone going to any shows? I'm meeting up with two friends to see them in Boston and Montreal. http://thesmithstreetband.com/shows
