Elsie pre-order on iTunes with 30 sec./90 sec. previews

Oh my god, the songs sound even more brilliant with the extended previews, so I can only imagine how good the whole songs are going to be, Brian's voice sounds amazing on every track, only 37 days and a bit to go

I haven't listened to any of the previews and I intend to keep it that way!

Yeah, the exact same with me and Blood Loss. I'm not worried about these previews ruining the album for me, because my liking the album increased exponentially from listening to the 30 second previews to listening to the 90 second ones. I can't imagine what listening to the whole album will be like.

Yeah me too, I wonder how long the tracks would be. For all we know, one of these tracks could be 8 minutes long. Now that would be sick.

Cherry Blossoms sounds like a beauty. my impressions of Ladykiller and Jesus Brought us Together improved a lot with the extra minute.

This sucks......I can't access the 90 second clips. For whatever reason, mine are still 30 seconds long. Anyone know why? Did they maybe switch the 90 sec. clips back to 30 sec.? Can you guys still access the 90 sec. clips?

It might just be me but Behold The Hurricane kinda sounds out of place on the record. However it's probably because it's the only song we've heard in full form

Did you try all of them? Last Rites is still 30 seconds (for obvious reasons).

My mistake! After going past Last Rites, it appears that they are 90 seconds long. I'm in the process of listening to them right now. Is the full version of Last Rites shorter than 90 seconds? I'm assuming that's why it's still kept at 30 seconds. Thanks!

I happened to see an interview Brian gave to a magazine about the record and he said that Last Rites was a song that was "only a minute and 30 seconds long with just me on piano, a tamborine and the vocals"

That makes sense then. Thanks for confirming that. From what I've heard of Last Rites....in the 30 second clips..... I really like it as an introduction to the album!

Yeah me too. It sets the dark tone! I can see it going into Sugar quite well

Album of the year. Already, hands down.

Can't really find any words for it otherwise. Wow.

I would not be surprised (from the bit I've heard) if this album were to be a huge success, in sales and awards. Given the need to get word out before it leaks (if it does), it makes sense to let people hear as much as possible and draw them into the pre-order. And I don't think that this is about money; greater exposure hopefully results in greater sales, which add to the exposure, which add to sales, and all this will ultimately get the album the distribution and recognition it probably deserves.

the whole thing; sounds like each and every song has surprised round the corner, just judging from the difference between hearing 30 secs and then 90 secs

Brian's vocals are way too intense on roughly half of this for it to be considered the 'night time music' that he first described this band as.

There was a few times listening to the clips that his voice actually was rather annoying, which is a bummer. ('Crush')

buuuut it mostly sounds amazing.

The chourus of Sugar (no, no, no) is one of the best and most addictive i've ever heard.

I was thinking the same about Blood Loss. Not that his vocals are annoying but when Blood Loss kicks in, if I was listening to that at night i'd jump out of my bed

also, the itunes previews are 1:30 now, so you can listen to a pretty good sample of the songs...

after listening, i still think "black betty" will be one of my favorite songs, there just seems to be something special about his voice.

i just realized it's light outside my window and it took me a minute to realize it was morning...i've been listening to the minute and a half song previews i didn't even realize it was morning, damn.

all these previews sound amazing! Sugar is probably my favorite, and that bridge in Black Betty gives me chills. Sugar kind of reminds me of the National.
Can't wait to hear the album in full!
