At the door the leaves had fallen.

The only part of the end I can make out is "Suddenly I realized that you were gone."

Just perfect, man

It sounds like the singer at the end says something I can't make out, then:

Suddenly I knew back then you were gone
Suddenly I knew I could hurt you more.

might be wrong though, it's tough to make out

thanks shrewsbury_stars! i had some trouble making out the lyrics myself when i first heard this, so i'm glad you took the time to do this. i'm liking the song a lot so far, the lyrics really kick ass and the music is a bit more layered and relaxed. i'm glad to hear this is the one that sounds most like gaslight.

I hear 'leaves' as well, I guess you're right with the Fall theme.

"By the time the leaves had fallen, suddenly I realized that you were gone"

That definitely makes sense. For some reason I'm hearing: "Back to joy. Leaves are falling. Suddenly I realized that your were gone."

I'm certain that I am mis-hearing "back to joy" part because that's pretty inane.

I think it's sung like BYYYYYYYYYY thhheee time the leeeee-eeee-eeeeaves had fallen, suddenly i realized that you were gone

"I'm not the man you love" is such a stick-with-you line

The best that I can hear is "BYYYYYY the CHHH the leeeeeavess had fallen, suddenly I realized that you were gone X2"

Or maybe "Behind the church the leaves had fallen"

I bought the Itunes version as well..and I'm still unsure of the first bit. I'm hearing a distinctive CHH sound where you have the word "door" (but maybe that's just me). Plus "At the door the leaves had fallen" just doesn't sit right with me.

It makes sense to me cuz he's standing in the doorway, the season's changed and as he's looking around at the leaves on the ground, he realizes that she's gone for good...

Also! In the chorus, similiar to the open line where he sings "I remember everything we had" and you can barely hear the we had, I think it's "Do you remember me, my lover?"

Yeah..the more I listen to it, At the door seems like it fits.

Been trying to work out the chords, basically figured out the intro as C - Am and Am + F for the transition, anyone else have better luck with it?

You're right with the first part, and then it goes into G right before the chorus. During the chorus, you can also add the B# when walking from the Am to the C. At the end of the chorus it goes from C-G-Am-F once and then back to C for the verse. For the breakdown, it goes from Em-Am-F twice then back and forth between Am-F and then bringing it back into the chorus with G. (The chord names are just for reference, seeing as his guitar is tuned to D-standard).
