A report from Astra in Berlin last night:
------------------------------------------ Yesterday night I went to the show of Gaslight Anthem in Berlin, Astra Kulturhaus, a very small venue for about 2000 people. When the show started, the guys came up on stage, and Clarence's Jungleland-solo was played in his entire length. A very good start of the show, I was happy at that point, but later there was more.
After playing some fast songs Fallon took a few minutes and talked about all the people he met in the past years, and after mentioning people like Eddie Vedder he also talked about Bruce: "But the cooles of all is Bruce Springsteen. (...) And Bruce told me, he said it three times, you should always stick to Europe. Because if you're doing a record that's not that great - those people will like it! (...) And at the moment, there's very much sadness about the passing of clarence, and so the next song is for him, this song is for Clarence Clemons!" And then they started a at first very slow and then very powerful version of "Meet me by the River's Edge" with the verse "No Surrender my Bobby Jean" in it, a very, very good song to remember the Big Man.
A great 113-minutes night, for Bruce-fans and TGA-fans either. That night really helped to fight the pain and the sadness. Thank you guys of TGA, you really knew, what's the right thing to do and to say right now.

Setlist:
High Lonesome The Diamond Church Street Choir Old White Lincoln Even Cowgirls Get The Blues Casanova Baby! The '59 Sound Bring It On Wherefore Art Thou, Elvis? Wooderson Miles Davies & The Cool Film Noir Meet Me By The River's Edge Say I Won't (Recognize) (w/ House of the Rising Son snippet) Blue Jeans & White T-Shirts Senñor & The Queen Angry Johnny And The Radio Here's Looking At You, Kid The Backseat
Biloxi Parish We Came To Dance American Slang The Queen Of Lower Chelsea The Navesink Banks Great Expectations
Looks like a pretty damn good set to me. Nice to play the whole Jungleland saxsolo at the start and then do River's Edge for Bruce and Clarence. Encore seems pretty smoking too, with Navesink Banks and Great Expectations to close with. Hope we get a boot from this!

It was a great night. I was talking to Benny afterwards and he said it was the best show they've played on the tour so far.
I swear Brian said something about how if somebody made a bootleg, it should be called A Hot Night in Berlin, hah.

Thanks for the report! Awesome setlist! Navesink, Say I Won't ... and seeing that they played Casanova AND Biloxi makes me hope to actually hear both songs in Hannover
I found this video of Blue Jeans in Berlin on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uMJnUxL5g7M&feature=feedlik Enjoy!

I´m still in Berlin and couldn´t upload some pictures. They will follow on the weekend, when I am back home.
Concert was really great. Surprisingly, not so many 'American Slang'-songs.But no reason for complaining, because the setlist was even perfect for this evening. They changed 'Biloxi Parish' a little bit.

Well...my third Gaslight concert and it was just wonderful..almost perfect. A beautiful summer night with rain, a magnificent setlist, the moving words from Brian about Clarence, a place in the first/second row, a great crowd, stunning sound (When they played "Here's looking at you, kid" I really had the feeling I'm alone with the band..it was so emotional ...) Big Thanks again to Ian who was so superfriendly and searched after the setlist under that big boomboxes! So I have a new setlist for my "Gaslight wall" at home. [: I even loved that tropical climate in the venue with temperatures at 8000°C or so... And yeah that new biloxi parish version was pretty sweet. As far as I remember they played that song with intro, first verse, chorus, guitar solo, then a (new) bridge part where they increased the speed of the song a lil bit and in the end the chorus again. Sounded pretty ace. Hope that version will make it on their next record. (:
And thank you for finding the "Blue Jeans" video, Manu. It immediately gives me shivers again. (:
