| I probably would have loved them when I was 16 but the new album is pleasent. Mountain Goats referencing pop-punk gets a pass in my book. | |

"when John introduced "Woke Up New" in St. Augustine I knew I wasn't alone" TWY is actually creeping on TGA in play count on last.fm...

TWY is actually creeping on TGA in play count on last.fm... Exactly it. A girl I know who I share a mutual love of TMG with told me about it and I hunted the song then album down.

| The band is fun, they're playing tomorrow at my school. I'm not a huge fan but I'll go. | |

Have fun. Maybe the show will convert you and afterwards you'll realize just how great of a record Suburbia is... Just be sure to watch out for the scene kids who try and spend the whole entire show crowdsurfing.

| I doubt I'll be converted I've seen them 4-5 times and listened to all their records. Just about as mediocre/boring as most pop punk bands. They always put on a fun show, but they're nothing special. | |

Ah okay. lame . Not sure how anyone could call Suburbia "boring". There is a heart and soul to that record that goes far beyond your tranditional poppy hooks and fluff-filled lyrics of your NFG cloans (not to slight NFG. I love a good pop punk song as much as the next guy. But there is a lot more substance in something like "its not about forcing happiness its about not letting sadness win" than "Have I waited too long? Have I found that someone? Have I waited too long to see you?") In my mind they are really only a "pop punk" band in the same was Gaslight is a "punk" band. But everyone has their own tastes. You can listen to the likes of Hold Tight! and I can listen to The Wonder Years and Transit and we can meet in the middle with Gaslight

| I love transit! I just mix up wonder years with four year strong, sometimes I can't even distinguish the difference between the two. | |
