If you just go in with an open mind and do all the dance moves they teach you, you'll have a fun time haha.

I'm just starting to get into Frank (hadn't done so out mostly out of pure laziness and lack of time), prompted by the fact that he is playing a show approximately three blocks from my apartment in August. Are any of you fans going to the Fillmore Silver Spring show? It looks like I'll be there but may be flying solo so I'd be happy to meet some new folks.

i think john allens record is pretty good, bought it a few weeks ago in my record store where he played a little acoustic session. missed it and bought it blind.

By the way, does anyone go to Frank's shows in Mobile, Jacksonville, Fort Lauderdale or Orlando? Will be my first time seeing Frank in the US. I have heard his shows over there are crazy!

Man the show tonight was amazing. Not that you needed anymore encouragement to go see him but yeah.
Like others pointed out, Koo Koo Kanga Roo was bizarre and weird but also lots of fun if you joined in. Those two guys are completely crazy but that just makes them awesome. Plus they made a Bob's Burgers reference (one of them said something in a girly voice, other guy said something like "Wow you have a really good girl voice Bryan" to which he replied "Thanks I'm auditioning for Bob's Burgers) which was all kinds of awesome.
Smith Street Band were great. Too short. Didn't play enough of their best songs. But still can't complain at least I got to see them and they were awesome.
Frank was Frank, which is to say, awesome. Isn't playing with his guitar due to back problems, but that doesn't stop the show from being awesome. For the cover he did Nirvana's On A Plane acoustically (had the guitar for that part despite doctor's orders) and completely hit it out of the park.
Only complaint is that I've been fighting a cold so had to fight to sing along and most of the time just mimed the words cause I didn't actually have much of a loud voice.

I recently recorded a session with Frank. Turned out pretty neat. He played a bonus track from Tape Deck Heart and also a Joni Mitchell cover. Here are the videos.
On a side note, I actually really like Frank not playing guitar on this tour. I know it's not for a happy reason (back troubles), but giving him the freedom to roam the stage and dance the whole show actually brings the energy level even higher in my opinion. It was my 3rd time seeing him and maybe my favorite.

Saw him last night. Definitely more sold on him than I've ever been. Lyrically and aesthetically I'm not always 100% on board with what he has to say but damn, he does put on a show. His voice was in top condition and as a bonus I loved his goofy dance moves.

Where abouts did you go and see him? Because he seems to have got fairly big over here in the UK now, I believe he's playing the 20,000 seater O2 Arena in February

He's definitely getting bigger over here but he's still nowhere near that level. I saw him a few weeks ago in ~800 cap venue but I live in a smaller area, he's probably around 1-2,000 in bigger cities. Just a couple years ago I saw him in basically a dive bar. Maybe 100 people there. So he's getting bigger pretty fast.
