| Back to listening to this guy again now, listend to The Door again earlier and it hit me that it was actually very good.
Still not up there with his last 2 albums but still a top song, can't wait till October.
Fathers Day, Worse Things Happen at sea and Reasons Not To Be An Idiot are brilliant songs

| new album's a bit disappointing. it's lacking the magic and wit of Love Ire & Song, and the new sound is a bit of an adjustment. i wouldn't even mind the change in sound if the songs were better, but they just aren't
but that's after only one listen, so who knows. i didn't like most of LI&S the first few times i listened to it. however, after the first listen of the new album, i played LI&S all the way through, 'cause i missed it so much

| i agree. when he breaks into the bridge on Try This At Home, it's so sick. after 3 listens, i've diagnosed the problems i have with this album: 1. My expectations were way too high
Since I loved his most recent album so much, love his previous more "rock" songs (Father's Day, Imperfect Tense, etc.), and loved the first single so much, I expected this album to be the greatest thing ever. It's not. 2. There is a detached feeling on several of these songs
Before this album, Frank had only written first-person narrative songs, but several songs on this album are from an outside point of view (Richard Divine, Magi). It seems as though the lyrics don't mean as much to Frank, and they do not mean as much to me. 3. Frank is still getting a hold on the "rock" sound
I feel like he decided to make a whole album after writing one or two songs in that style, and kinda forced the rest. He's trying it out, and hasn't really figured out how to make it work for him. that being said, this album is really growing on me. the title track, Live Fast Die Old, and The Fastest Way Back Home are all really good also, the above link is down. use this one: - Code:

| I heard some of his new single the other day on the radio. I admit it didn't strike me as much as the stuff from Love Ire & Song. But we shall see. May be a grower. |

| After I had bought his Love Ire & Song/ First three years cds I really liked some songs a lot and waited to listen to some more songs. http://www.mediafire.com/?mnyjymemyyt The link doesn´t work somehow , the site opens but when I click on the downloading button it connects me with an information page of mediafire... For everyone who might have the same problem- this one still works: http://getanearection.blogspot.com/2009/08/frank-turner-poetry-of-deed-advance.html

| I've been listening to the track Love, Ire and Song and his lyrics continue to blow me away. It's Frank Turner-style honesty that isn't too metaphoric, isn't too poetic. It's raw and real and as cheesy as that last sentence was, I fucking love his style. | |

| I'll give the whole album a listen eventually but I just can't get into the new single. I've only heard it on the radio though while I've been in work so maybe my mind would be changed if it got my sole attention. |

| Frank's releasing a split with Tim Barry. Tim's song will be "Thing of the Past" off his upcoming album, and Frank's will be an acoustic version of "Try This at Home". it'll be available on the Revival Tour | |

Awesome. I love him. | |
