Not a sir, but by husband is, so I am sure he will appreciate the sentiment - e7c wrote:

The white SatQ 7" was the hardest to track down! My husband engaged in some bargaining with a lovely gentleman who was unsure of whether of not he wanted to part with it. However, since we had an extra (red) first pressing copy, he was agreeable to a trade (plus quite a bit of cash from us!) The black SoS wasn't too easy, but that's kind of due to cost... I've been thinking that we spent $275, but upon further investigation, it was $285. We've had that one for a while, though, so I forgot. As for the last piece of the puzzle... technically, I believe it was the while SatQ... before that, we had secured/ordered the yellow and blue SoS, but all 3 of them arrived on the same day, if I recall. I am just so glad we are done. I mean, of course we will get everything that comes out from here on out, but no more needing to track down /100 releases that have been out for several years!

| If my memory serves me correctly, there's also a euro pressing of The '59 Sound with etchings that differ from the US version. It's still on black but technically a different press. | |

| We decided against pursuing that one because the only difference IS the etching; the sleeves were even shipped to the Euro plant, but they pressed them there because it made more sense, financially and logistically, to do it that way. | |

| I'm only missing a total of three or four. The only major one is SATQ 7" white. The others shouldn't be that hard to track down. But there all euro colors of SOS that are the same as the US version...so I might pass! | |

Senor & The Queen (white) Old White Lincoln 7" Sink or Swim (Euro press blue w/ white splatter) SOS Demos (blue/white w/ screened sleeve)

| This looks sooooo amazing!!! I think mine's mostly complete, I just need to get some newer presses and I'll be up to date. Even got that Fake Problems/TGA split in the mail today. I also have a few doubles. I have to figure out which ones exactly, but I'd definitely like those to go to fans on this forum. I don't think I have anything too rare, though. | |

| The yellow SoS was pressed not too long ago... I can't remember when exactly, but it's the newest one!
Sanam, I actually have no idea. I THINK Andrew has kept a running list of what we've paid for each thing. But due to some trades happening for some items, we can't say for sure. But regardless, I don't even have a rough estimate, only because I have been too afraid to think about it! I can bite the bullet and ask him, though. I might just cry. I know that between the black SoS and while SatQ 7", we spent about $535. I think one other SoS pressing was $130. Just thinking about it might give me a heart attack. ha.

| I was just looking for a rough estimate but in this case, its a question that I wouldn't like you to answer it...forget I even asked. |

| hahahaha no, it's okay! what's done is done and I suppose I am kind of interested. Fortunately/unfortunately Andrew is in bed right now. I'll ask him later if he has, in fact, kept track of the cost.
Whatever it is, it is minuscule compared to the thousands upon thousands that we have poured into our Manic Street Preachers collection over the past (almost) 9 years! Granted, MOST of that was back in high school/college, when we didn't have much else to spend money on.
We've cut ourselves off now, though. Only bothering to collect for Gaslight, Fake Problems, and New Found Glory. The Manic's collection is ongoing as well but it's a weird one... they've been kickin' around since 1988, and we have some of the rarest items already. It's insane.
Record collecting is fun, but good god, I would not wish it on my worst enemy. It's an awful habit unless you also grow money trees.
