Coffeehouse Sessions - Auld Lang Syne Empty
PostSubject: Coffeehouse Sessions - Auld Lang Syne   Coffeehouse Sessions - Auld Lang Syne Icon_minitimeThu Nov 18, 2010 10:16 pm

Hey guys, my mate was listening to Auld Lang Syne from Brian's Coffeehouse Settings and was hoping he could teach himself the song. Can anyone make out the lyrics? Cause im terrible at even guessing the right words. Cheers.

Best i can do is provide the original lyrics to the song.
Should old acquaintance be forgot,
and never brought to mind ?
Should old acquaintance be forgot,
and old lang syne ?

CHORUS:
For auld lang syne, my dear,
for auld lang syne,
we'll take a cup of kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.
And surely you’ll buy your pint cup !
and surely I’ll buy mine !
And we'll take a cup o’ kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.

CHORUS
We two have run about the slopes,
and picked the daisies fine ;
But we’ve wandered many a weary foot,
since auld lang syne.

CHORUS
We two have paddled in the stream,
from morning sun till dine† ;
But seas between us broad have roared
since auld lang syne.

CHORUS
And there’s a hand my trusty friend !
And give us a hand o’ thine !
And we’ll take a right good-will draught,
for auld lang syne.

CHORUS

Coffeehouse Sessions - Auld Lang Syne Empty
PostSubject: Re: Coffeehouse Sessions - Auld Lang Syne   Coffeehouse Sessions - Auld Lang Syne Icon_minitimeTue Dec 21, 2010 7:50 pm

Actually worked these out myself, took ages tho. Anyone with any better suggestions/varaitons feel free to amend theses:

Should old acquaintance be forgot and never brought to mind?
Should old acquaintance be forgot for Old Lang Syne?
For Old Lang Syne my dear, for Old Lang Syne?
The dream took up the time we spent oh Old Lang Syne

We’ll meet again some new year’s day we’ll meet again my dear
For my loneliness exceeds the night I’d forgotten one so near
We’ll feel the ghost of old new years slowly fade from mind
We’ll feel the ghosts all fade away for Old Lyne Syne
The night will play our love song dear and the clouds will fade some day
For the rain is all I have my dear for the rain threw this away
Those nights are gone but stay in mind and that song remains to play
The pictures fade into the night and the hurt too will one day

Should old love songs be forgot and never brought to play?
Should old angst be forgot for Old Lang Syne?
For Old Lang Syne my dear, for Old Lang Syne?
The dream picks us the time we spent oh Old Lang Syne

Should old acquaintance be forgot and never brought to mind?
Should old acquaintance be forgot for Old Lang Syne?
For Old Lang Syne my dear, for old Lang Syne?
We’ll drink up to the time we spent for Old Lang Syne

The night is gone, the day in mind and the song remains to play
Those eyes are gone, they fade away but the hurt it will one day
The night will sing our love song clear and the clouds will fade some day
For the rain is all I have my dear but the rain threw this away
Those nights are gone but stay in mind and the song remains to play
The pictures fade into the night and the hurt it will one day

Should old love songs be forgot and never brought to mind?
Should old acquaintance be forgot for Old Lang Syne?

Thanks, Philo. Assuming the words are Brian's, it's pretty impressive, seeing how young he was then.
