| This is a very difficult list, but to narrow it down, I selected my top ten favorite bands based on certain criteria including: 1. bands that are still active, 2. bands that I have followed and supported throughout the majority, if not all of their music careers, and 3. bands whose album releases are consistent, to the point where I enjoy listening to all or at least the majority of the band's albums. So, in no specific order my top ten is:
1. The Gaslight Anthem 2. The Dropkick Murphys 3. Against Me 4. Street Dogs- not crazy about recent release 5. The Loved Ones (and Dave Hause solo) 6. The Briggs 7. Flatfoot 56- not crazy about recent release 8. The National 9. Fake Problems 10. Tim Barry/Chuck Ragan- just can't pick between them
Bands that could possibly make the above list, dependent upon everyday changes in mood, that may not meet the criteria included above: Arcade Fire The Hold Steady Airborne Toxic Event The Riot Before Filthy Thieving Bastards Far From Finished The Beatles Nirvana and I'm sure there's a few others that I can't think of right now

| To pick ten I'm guessing and the order is a bit irrelevant really... depends on the day, the mood, the concept - I'd rather see TGA, the Foos or even Bon Jovi (sue me ) live over Neil Young these days for instance but I rate him much more highly for his music and what he's done over his career. And there's about a million others who I love to listen to so... it's a kinda weak list I suppose as lists go :/ all the same I'll give it a go 1. Bruce Springsteen 2. Neil Young 3. The Gaslight Anthem 4. Lynyrd Skynyrd 5. The Beatles 6. Tom Waits 7. Foo Fighters 8. Bon Jovi 9. Aerosmith 10. Badly Drawn Boy | |

Jack's Mannequin Good to see a fellow Goo Goo Dolls fan who also loves Gaslight I love "A Boy Named Goo" and earlier stuff...and a few songs from the next record or two. They've changed so much. I'm not saying that in a judgmental way, but I always feel like I have to clarify when I say I like the GGD-- just cause, to me at least, there's a big difference.

I know some names there arent very cool and many of you are probably laughing or just saying who?!? but I still love them who cares? the people that always say they like the "cool" bands either listen to shitty music just so they can claim bragging rights, or they're lying about what they listen to.

| hmm...kinda in order...or not
1. The Rolling Stones 2. Bruce Springsteen 3. Neil Young 4. The Replacements 5. Drive-By Truckers 6. Bob Dylan 7. Ryan Adams 8. Elliott Smith 9. Johnny Thunders (including the New York Dolls/The Heartbrakers/solo stuff) 10. Manic Street Preachers/The Gaslight Anthem/The Tallest Man On Earth/The National/Reigning Sound/The Clash/The Beatles
so I cheated.
the first seven are definite, and then it's getting vague...could probably include a bunch of other acts at the end there, depending on my mood.

| The top five or so are in a pretty safe order, but the rest not so much.
1. Bruce Springsteen (I'll make the disclaimer that I discovered TGA before the connection was apparent) 2. The Gaslight Anthem 3. Frank Turner 4. The Hold Steady 5. Bob Dylan 6. Ray Charles 7. The entirety of the soul music genre (The Temptations, Otis Redding, Sam & Dave, ect.) 8. Arcade Fire 9. Kevin Devine 10. The Beatles/The Clash/Murder by Death/Against Me/Hank Williams/The Rolling Stones/Pearl Jam
10 is a giant mishmash of every other band I listen to. I'd also throw Frank Sinatra up there somwhere, but my enjoyment of him and other Jazz and classic pop artists runs parallel to my more rock music listening. Rarely do they intersect.
