| Favorite bands: 1. Papa Roach 2. Gaslight Anthem 3. Green Day 4. Jimmy Eat World 5. Rise Against 6. My Chemical Romance 7. Blink-182 8. The Clash 9. Foo Fighters 10.Unwritten Law
Honorable mentions: Sharks, Motley Crue, Metallica, Social Distortion & Frank Turner and a billion others. But these are the active favorites at the moment.
Only recently got into Social D beyond the radio hits in the past year, but it had more to do with seeing the films Another State of Mind & Let Them Know about a year ago than it did with Brian.

| I realised when thinking about this list, I don't like that many bands... I found it hard to think of ten, so I threw some non-bands in there to flesh the list out: 1. The Gaslight Anthem 2. The Horrible Crowes 3. Frank Sinatra 4. Dean Martin 5. Paolo Nutini 6. Jeff Buckley 7. Johnny Cash 8. Tim Curry 9. Linkin Park 10. Kings of Leon Honourable mentions: The Ink Spots, Ella Fitzgerald, Glenn Miller, Frank Turner, Muse, The Beautiful South, and many more | |

| That's hard, as i realise also that i don't like a lot of bands. Here is my absolute top 3. The rest of the list (not in a particular order) are bands that i've always listen and get consistent play in my car or at home. 1) Social Distortion 2) TGA 3) The Clash Lucero Johnny Cash James Intveld AC/DC (Bon scott era) Goldfinger The Ramones The Brave ones The Offspring (s/t, Ignition and Smash. My high school years!) Eddie Cochran Elvis Presley (the early years) Chuck Ragan | |

| 1. Gaslight Anthem 2. Frank Turner 3. Beatles 4. Iron & Wine 5. Regina Spektor 6. Simon & Garfunkel 7. The Pogues 8. White Stripes/Raconteurs/Dead Weather (completely obsessed with Jack White...) 9. The Clash 10. Social Distortion
All of these kind of run together. Gaslight's definitely up there, but sometimes I just can't help but love Sam Beam and Regina for their work...

Papa Roach above Gaslight? are you fucking kidding me? not trying to be a dick, but i'd take just about anyone (other than Nickelback-- i mean nickelback, they don't deserve the honor of capitalization) over Papa Roach. Gaslight second to Papa fucking Roach, what the fuck do you even do with that??

| Felt that 6 more months of music listening required an update to the list. In my opinion there is still daylight between the top 4 and 5-10.
1) Gaslight Anthem 2) The Hold Steady 3) Lucero 4) The Black Keys 5) Dave Woodcock & The Dead Comedians 6) Red Hot Chili Peppers 7) Nirvana 8 ) Smashing Pumpkins 9) Ryan Adams 10) Cage The Elephant (including the Perfect Confusion years otherwise they can fuck off out of the list after that piece of crap that they think passes for an album they released earlier this year.)

| 1. The Gaslight Anthem 2. Bruce (With E-Street) 3. Pearl Jam 4. Muse 5. Foo Fighters 6. Cage the Elephant 7. We Were Promised Jetpacks 8. The Killers 9. Arcade Fire 10. Social Distortion
All based on live performances and what I consider the "Blown Away" factor. Bruce, Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters win awards for 3 hour rock awesomness.
Muse and Killers win award for high energy, positive fun.
Cage and Jetpacks win on "would love for them to be huge but at the same time hope it never happens"
Arcade Fire: 50 people in their band but they are also musically talented.
Social D and Gaslight are pretty much the same. Simply makes your life better.

I'm surprised that more people haven't mentioned U2. I should have included them on my list as an alternate (I wrote a long list!) and I didn't! Anyway, I love U2! I guess I should go back and edit! Paula, I think you may be the only person who has listed THC above TGA. Very interesting!

| Final change I promise . 1) Gaslight Anthem 2) The Hold Steady 3) Lucero 4) Drive-By Truckers 5) Ryan Adams 6) Stereophonics 7) Red Hot Chili Peppers 8 ) The Horrible Crowes 9) The Black Keys 10) Deadstring Brothers The Hold Steady "Hold's Steady" at no.2 . As well as TGA and Lucero keeping their position. New-entry's include DBT, THC, DSB, and Stereophonics These new entry's have come at the expense of bands such as Nirvana, given that I haven't listened to a grunge song for almost a year. It should be noted how much The Black Keys continue to fall, and Ryan Adams continues to climb to the top. | |

(outside of the top three the rest are in more or less random order).
1: The Gaslight Anthem 2: Bruce Springsteen 3: Frank Turner 4: Lucero 5: The National 6: Capital Lights 7: Tom Waits 8: The Offspring 9: The Bouncing Souls 10: House of Heroes Its over a year so I figured its time for a change 1: The Gaslight Anthem / The Horrible Crowes - No change here 2a: Frank Turner - If it wasn't for Brian, Frank would be my Bob Dylan 2b: Lucero - Or Ben Nichols 2c: The Hold Steady - Or Craig Finn (how did I not have those guys on the list last time?) 5a: Brand New - Jesse Lacey is below the Turner/Nichols/Finn level on my rock frontman adoration poll, but not by much. 5b: The National - Same with Matt Berninger 7: Fake Problems - Another band I simply forgot last time. 8: The Bouncing Souls - Hopleless Romanatic and How I Spent My Summer Vacation are both the kind of album you go a while without listening to and then listen to it again and go "Dang. I forgot how good this was" 9: The Wonder Years - Doing to pop punk what Gaslight did to punk. Suburbia was all kinds of fantastic. 10: Bruce Springsteen - Not sure why I had him so high last time. He his good. And all nine of the bands above show his influence. But if I have to be honest about favorites all nine of those come first.
