Stuff I've Been Listening To Recently - A Colmillionaire Mixtape

These mixtapes have been lacking, thought I would upload one even though I wasn't on the calendar. That....and I'm trying to avoid two big projects that I have to do for school. Well here we go!

1) Composite Character by End of a Year

One of the better punk bands around today, with the greatest introduction to a record that I have heard in a long time. Check out their record if you are remotely into Embrace and Rites of Spring. Patrick Kindlon is hardcore's smartest frontman and his live banter is unparalleled. Check out You Are Beneath Me if you dig it.

2) Little League by Cap'n Jazz

The title track from the band that created the "Midwestern Emo" genre (whatever that might be) 21 years ago. I had the pleasure of seeing them this past weekend in Philly, and it was incredible, first time they had played Philly since 1994. Tim and Mike Kinsella are in it too, see: Make Believe, Owen, Owls, Joan of Arc, American Football and tons of other bands they have both been in. If the reunion tour is in your area and you don't go, you are making a massive mistake.

3)Life and Death by RVIVR

Olympia's best org-core band featuring Matt from Latterman, Mutoid Men, Hooky, and The Shorebirds. Makes me miss living on the Left Coast, hope you enjoy.

4)Lodging by Tigers Jaw

This song is based off of Twin Peaks and is on their latest split with Balance and Composure. You should listen to it. Tigers Jaw is one of the best current bands out there today.

5)Theme (For Ennio Morricone) by Murder By Death

I've been listening to a lot of the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly soundtrack on vinyl. This is the closest thing to it that I have in mp3 form. Murder By Death is probably my 2nd-3rd favorite band. They capture a sound that nobody can remotely come to replicating.

6)Tangerine by Big Boi featuring T.I.

The odd one out on this mix. My favorite song of 2010 bar none. Pick up his first solo record if you haven't already, every song on it is golden.

Saw Cap'n Jazz in Brooklyn on Sunday. Phenomenal. Their set was. The organization of the show was eh due to lack of communication in case of a storm. (the show was supposed to be outside.)

Once I'm not on my brothers computer, I'll download the mixtape.

Yea. A friend of mine is a photographer for some sites so she booked it and I would have been lost without her in Brooklyn for the most part haha. So I still had to wait, she didn't but luckily I got in fast enough. It was entirley stupid. When they made the announcement about them having an alt. location you think they would have just moved it then cause you could have looked at the skyline and saw an apocalyptic cloud of Manhattan looking like a hurricane was heading straight our way. No Age went on first, they didnt even allow them to go on until 5:30. Ridiculous cause they were set up by 4:50.

cops told my friend and I (and all of the other people around us) that they would have to take police action against us if we didn't leave. We left.

Well, apparently Jelly wanted to wait the storm out. Since East River Park is through the state parks department, they made they call since it was in the "publics best safety."

RVIVR are good and all but man, i only got the Shorebirds album last week. No idea why i waited so long before buying it. Latterman + Jawbreaker = win

I love the shorebirds 7", not as crazy about the lp though. I've consistently loved everything rvivr has put out though
