I can't believe that there isn't a f*****g Oasis thread on this f*****g forum. What the f**k is wrong with you people? Oasis must be one of the greatest f*****g bands of the last decades. I've actually got all their f*****g albums, including the 4 Disc boxset with their f*****g great live set from the Roundhouse.

Alright, I'm an Oasis fan, but I'm not a 'Gallagher' fan. I actually can't stand Liam, though I admire Noel for his songwriting (needless to say that Brian is in another league altogether).

And my favourite album of theirs is 'The Masterplan', which is arguably the most astonishing set of B-Sides and Out-takes ever.

Interestingly, Oasis are more Beatles derivative than the Gaslight Anthem are Springsteen derivative (Liam is actually John Paul Liam ...), and that never did any harm.

Oh, and excuse my language above, but that comes from having just listened to Liam on a live recording.

Good...not great. For me anyway, can understand their huge appeal and love every single song on their Stop the Clocks compilation album.

Thats about it though, last 2 albums have been poor, never got into them that much. So many better out there in my opinion, never got the huge hype...albeit I do understand it.

Agreed. Other than one or two songs I've never really liked anything from them. There not all that popular over here anyway, never really heard anyone talk about them.

Amen! have you seen the egotistical morons clothing line?

As for talent they're second to none. Well by second to none I mean bunch of second rate chancers pushing bland uninspired and unoriginal ripped off guitar riffs and lyrics that someone who doesn't have English as even their third language could write using only the rhyming dictionary toddler edition.

Truly everything I despise about music personified. Status Quo for the new milennium.

This isn't just an opinion it's fact ,you may disagree but you'd be wrong.

Yup, and morons throughout the country are queueing up to pay sixty quid for a t-shirt that guarantees they'll look like a giant penis.

That rant looks bad but I promised it to myself the first time I saw Oasis appear on their own thread on these boards.

It's like starting an I love Timbaland thread on a KKK bands website.

What next a Brokencyde appreciation thread??????

See, I think they're alright. But are very much overrated. Try too hard to be the Beatles (who themselves are overrated, but good nonetheless. What they did at the time was quite revolutionary, but they're actually not as great as made out to be).

The Masterplan is also one of my favorite songs from any artist I've ever heard. Those guys put out some great music, a shame they spend as much time wailing on each other as they do producing work.

Just started getting in to Oasis, they have about 40 great songs. I think they're more of a singles band I don't think they have great albums like TGA or Springsteen. Even though I can't seem to relate to them like the aforementioned groups, they're still a great band. Maybe it's an English thing.

Loved the first two albums but everything after that falls short of the mark something seroius. Hugely overrated band imo, always living of the first two.

yeah pretty much!
I absolutely hate how obsessive some of their fans can be, I find liam and noel annoying but they wrote some pretty good songs while they were still relevant, I mean I could sing along to don't look back in anger when I was little haha

To my own surprise, I really like the Beady Eye album. Much better overall than the recent Oasis albums.
