| That 12 string sounds fucking nice. What kind is it? I know you posted somewhere before when you first got it, but I can't remember what topic it was in. |

| This is a link to my blog, I tend to discuss various musical topics and use it to introduce my own music and stuff Im working on. this post kind of explains a little project Ive been doing based around a few covers. It contains my 'night time' cover of American Slang. Its all recorded on one track unlike my other recordings but I hope you like it if you find time to listen.
Thanks guys

| Loving this cover, Jerseyrain. Your voice suits it very well. I've always enjoyed more simpllistic versions of songs. To me it just makes it seem more honest, or raw. Keep up the good work!! |

Makes me wanna record one myself, what with American Slang being my favorite TGA song and all.

| Disclaimer: This is in no way a professional recording. We only had one mic. Well, two mics, but they're both equally inferior in terms of recording good audio. We did the best we could.
Also, it's not exactly like the original! It sounds more like a rehearsal recording or something like that, and it's kind of a little bit rawer. It's hard to work with dynamics with limited means.
Anyway, please do enjoy: http://soundcloud.com/johnzackarias/film-noir-the-gaslight-anthem

| Oh, and I should mention I played the guitar, bass and I also do the singing. My friend did drums and backing vocals. | |

| Considering the limited equipment, you did an epic cover, I felt the guitars might of been a little low, other wise great cover, looking forward to another. | |

| Love it, love it, love it! I really like how it's a little raw, makes it sound very honest, if that makes any sense. You sounded great, Harbortown! | |

| I have to agree with Shannon -- the raw sound makes it honest, which I think is great. Good work! |

| Thank you so much, guys! You're probably right about that, Debonair. It's always so easy to miss one little detail. Getting all the volume levels right is a pretty bitching job, especially when you're using 25 channels, haha. All of them aren't employed throughout the song, but still. And I guess I don't mind the rawness! I do love some proper distortion and punch. - Sarah wrote:

| Nice cover dude! Been working on the more raw sound a lot myself recently, just keeping it simple and gives a song more meaning or feeling I rekon. Good stuff! | |
