| Brothers by The Black Keys is great.
Attack and Release wasn't too good but since then they did that hip-hop thing and each released a solo project and it's made them sound tight.

| I haven't liked The Black Keys as much since they started sounding slicker and more produced. Haven't heard the new record though. | |

| The Riot Before - Rebellion Spoon - Transference Ted Leo & The Pharmacists - The Brutalist Bricks The Hold Steady - Heaven Is Whenever The Gaslight Anthem - American Slang Hotel St. George - Funshine Line The Soft Pack - The Soft Pack
Rebellion is awesome, in my opinion. Not as many standout tracks as their last one, but I think slightly better as a whole. I could prolly say the same for The Brutalist Bricks. I don't love Heaven Is Whenever as much as I was hoping to, but still really good. Seeing The Hold Steady for their album release show was the best show I've been to in a few years.
I can also bet that I'm going to love the new album from Delta Spirit, History From Below.

Really? I loved the new album. Much better than "Living With the Living." I can't really explain why, but this album didn't really do it for me. It's a SLIGHT disappointment. They're definitely great songs, but I don't think it holds up as an album. There are parts I find very awkward, like how low he sings in One Polaroid, but mostly it's just the production that seems too... fake I guess. It's funny you mention LWTL because I find that album to be a musical masterpiece with all the different genres

| I do agree that "One Polaroid A Day" is weak, and "Tuberculoids Hop" or w/e is really dumb, but the rest is great.
"Living With the Living" contains "Bottle of Buckie" which is probably my favorite Ted Leo song, but it's just way too long. I don't even remember much of the second half even though I enjoyed it.
To me, "Brutalist Bricks" is great because of it's full-speed ahead approach. I love the slight hardcore influence in there. It lets it really rock. I also feel like "Bottle In Cork" is almost a sequel to "Bottle of Buckie."

| I wish the singer of The Hold Steady could sing. I don't want to hear him talk. They'd blow me away if they just had a fucking singer!

| the reason that he can't sing is why i like the band to begin with. if craig finn wasn't the singer i wouldn't like them half as much as I do. | |

| Actually I think on the latest hold steady album its the first time he does actually sing (hence why I really like it) Hes talking style is an acquired taste but I do like it now | |
