Record Release Show! NYC JUNE 15!

They Killed it.
I actually payed less than ticketmaster by scoring two tickets for 55 beans outside the venue.

Scalpers were asking for $100.00

I just got my computer back from repairs, but I'll be brief about my show experience.

I embarrassed myself by getting to Irving around 1:15. However, I met Brian and I believe one of the techs whose name slips my mind .(may have been Matt?) Great guy, had a nice talk,got a picture with him and was freaking out like a school girl haha. The set was great. New and old. All except WDIW3Y (that still in effect?) off of American Slang. Drive I think was the oldie of the night for me. I had some nice people around me, and ended up getting a setlist and Benny's stick! Great night, and worth the 4 hours of sleep. Haha.

Hah. Obviously you were first in line... so when did others start showing up? Also, the tech could've been Ian (unless they've added someone else).

Ha I met up with some friends from Brooklyn for food, left around 2:30 came back around 4:15 and there were 3 people waiting. So somewhere between those two times.

As for the name, I think it was Ian cause when he was handing out setlist at the end I think he may have said something to me and then his name was called. I feel like a jerk cause he was really nice to me also.

As for acousticbandit, sorry if I was in your face about it, I was a bit too giddy about it haha. Small world, belated welcome to the boards.

i got 18! yet i was first to buy a poster........

The ones I have left are unnumbered but signed by me (for all that is worth). The band and staff all grabbed some and may have been sold out of order.

Just ordered mine, didn't want to pick one up at the show because there was no way it would have survived.

By the way, what's with the skull on the new backdrop? I've never been keen on skulls (except in connection with pirate stuff) and I don't see how relates to any of the new material or to the album design.

i bought a hoodie from a tour last year, the back is what looks like a postcard and its has either japanese or chinese characters on it and the front has a post mark stamp with a skull in the middle of it, also on the back is a girls name I've never heard in any of their songs. I don't know what any part of this hoodie has to do with the gaslight anthem but it looks cool as hell. I guess someone likes skulls or something.

I think it is the fifties rocker look that they are going for - think Marlon Brando and James Dean when it comes to the imagery. The stuff they get done fits the demographic well and kids love skulls.

hat I like about the band, and purely from a design standpoint is a problem, is that they have a wide demographic of audience members. The Release Show is a good example - there were all ages present having a great time. If it was all 16 year olds they would want a certain type of shirt design but the 30 year olds want something different. Neither design stye is better or worse, they just appeal to different people.

I don't recall being this psyched for a show in a long time!

El Jefe- I LOVE your stuff. So jealous of your talent. And I was also jealous of people who got the Irving Plaza poster because I got to merch too late. Saw the last one being sold about 2 people before me. Glad to know it's on sale via the site! I've got the one from the Wellmont show framed on my living room wall.

Now... what's up with the Hall & Oates!?
