| I'm Never Coming Back Here Again - EP
I just graduated from college in Idaho and I'll be moving away this weekend. I'll be living in San Diego for the summer before I move to Austin in the fall. I'm glad that I was able to get my degree, and I've had some a few good memories here, but I really can't imagine a situation that would bring me back to this godforsaken state. Here are a few songs that I've been rocking as I get ready to leave forever. This mix isn't as negative as this prelude might make it sound, I'm a pretty happy person.
1. The Clash - Safe European Home Joe Strummer is my favorite musician of all time. I think Give 'Em Enough Rope is a really overlooked album.
2. Limbeck - Let Me Come Home I love these guys. They make great road trip music, good for long drives.
3. Chuck Ragan - Do You Pray I'm not a HWM fan, but I love Chuck, and Feast or Famine is a great album.
4. The Riot Before - Uncharted Lands Definitely check out their new album Rebellion. So good.
5. Death on Wednesday - Panic (The Smiths cover) My favorite band of all time. This song isn't that different from the original, but I still think it rocks.
6. Spoon - I Saw The Light Transference was the first album of the year that I totally geeked out about. I love me some Spoon. http://www.mediafire.com/?gejqzndldnm

| I don't know if it's that there's something wrong with Idaho, as much as it's just not for me. I guess I'm a warm weather, big city person, and Idaho's winter lasts, like, 8 months long and is on the edge of nowhere. Some people love it, it's just not my cup of tea. | |

| not sure where yet, but i lived there over the summer, about four or five minutes south of downtown. i love that place too, aside from the great weather and the cool people, there's always plenty of shows to go to. saw Gaslight at Antone's for the first time last april, they were awesome (of course). | |

| Love the Clash of course. That's a great Chuck Ragan song too. I love "Feast or Famine" a lot. I just got "Gold Country" yesterday though and I'm struggling to get into it.
Also I really like Spoon but haven't gotten around to hearing the new stuff so I'll check it out on this tape.

| yeah, i was pretty reluctant to get into Chuck, but when i did, i was so stoked on Feast or Famine that i wonder if my expectations for Gold Country were a little too high. "10 West" is the only one that really stands out to me, but i find that when i'm craving me some Chuck Ragan, there's no reason to look past FoF. the split he did w/ The Loved Ones was also good. | |

| Is the split with the Loved Ones only on vinyl or can I get it digital/CD?
EDIT: Found and downloading from Amazon.

| Dave Hause isn't all that great at covering songs, but he definitely can write good ones. Chuck, however, is good at both, and his version of Pretty Good Year is... pretty good. | |

| i dunno, i liked The Loved Ones take on "For Broken Ears" (i especially thought that the brass they used instead of Chuck's harmonica was a good touch), but their cover of "Coma Girl" on the Distractions EP was kinda weak, especially since it is such an awesome song to begin with. | |

It's like $2. Worth if if you're a fan. It was okay, nothing great. But I don't feel like I wasted $2...because well, it was $2.

Gold Country has really grown on me after a week in the car. It's no "Feast or Famine" and I still don't like some of the songs, but it's generally a strong record. "Glory", "Done and Done" and "10 West" are my favorites.
