Best Live Bootlegs ?

Hi Guys,

I've just joined the forum & have only recently got into TGA,could someone please tell me soundwise quality which are the best bootleg recordings (soundboards,iem aud mix etc etc)to download ?

This would have been a good query for the audio section.

Anyway, my favourite is the Reading 2009 recording, which is broadcast quality, as it's taken off the webcast.

I really like the Live in Baltimore boot from October 08 (I think). Live at th Recher is really good, so is live from Shepherd's Bush Empire.

energetic set with a great crowd and the sound is the best that i've heard of all the fan recordings. it legit sounds like a soundboard recording.

and to top it all off, the trusty chords cover in the encore is stellar. you could really tell the crowd is really into it and that just adds onto the magic of that show

I agree wiith DiamondB wholeheartedly....The DC show in Oct 2009 is hand-made. Great sound quality, good interaction with the crowd, good set list, and a crushing rendition of 1930 to boot.

Live at Reading, Live at 3voor12 are the best, but short.

there is one from feb 2008 which is pretty good, my fav. actually. complete senor and the queen + a lot of sink or swin songs

I have a really good concert DVD of the concert in Colorado last year. Englewood Colorado. The Gothic Theater it's almost perfect quality but the files are too large to upload !

live at 930 club oct 2009 is the best one i've heard

I personally like the Filmore one but that's cause I was there

I love the live in Boston one. You can just feel how into it the crowd and the band are.

The Southside festival shows are good ones imo

I like the Zoe Club, Milan, Italy - 24 Feb 2009 show from Italian Radio. It is a nice setlist and has great sound quality--although the song breaks/announcer are a little annoying.

And The Annandale Hotel, Sydney - 30 July 2008 is a must have as well.

I also like the two Pinkpop one's (from 2009 and 2011) since I've been to both shows myself.

I notice on gaslightanthem.org Brian says he's fine with bootlegs. Wonder how Biloxi Parish affected his feelings on that subject, haha.

the 'Biloxi Parish' recording is from the Metro Theatre webcast (?; was it an FM broadcast too?), which was presumably agreed for that show; anything of that quality gets ripped these days; not an audience bootleg, but so what

on that note, some big bands make every show available for download, which is much better for an artist than lots of crappy audience recordings (and it makes people pay), even if you may have screwed up a few notes here and there (at least then it's not a crappy recording of you screwing up)

Brian Fallon live at the court tavern 2010 is a great peformance

live in germany on the area 4 festival i think? is great as a GA bootleg too
