| What are your hobbies? Personally, my favorite thing to do is cook. I make all sorts of different things, cookies, cakes, pastas, chicken. It's something I liked to do when I was younger, and recently I started doing it again and love it. | | |

| I just had a quick look @ your flickr sets, kieran, that shot of Seb Clarke is really cool. The blur makes it look kinda like a painting. | |

| A lot of people on here seem to be interested in photography. We should start a new topic for people to post their stuff. I don't have anything online yet so I wouldn't have anything to share at this point, but...I'm sure a bunch of others would. | |

| I attempt to be a songwriter but it doesn't work out well. I can come up with the music, but I have a tough time with lyrics. I'm happy all the time which almost seems to hinder writing a decent song at times. | |

Simo, you like the Bouncing Souls? I swear they're the cheeriest band on the planet, and they've written boatloads of great tunes. And I have to comment on the oddity of someone wishing he was sadder at times.

| I haven't heard much of them but I do like the songs I've heard. I still need to hear a full album.
And I understand the irony of wishing I was sad, and I even have tried to turn it into songs. But if my only problem in life is not being able to write sad songs, then I think I'll be just fine.

| Very true. Many writers get away with just being fairly literate, and acting almost as authors rather than memoir writers, if that makes any sense. Personally, I'm a mixed bag. At the moment I would be considered upper-middle class, but my grandfather was a milkman and my dad and his brother were the first in his family to go to college. So I don't necessarily have a hard-knock life or anything, but I've been cursed (blessed?) with some bad luck and bad turns that have turned into really good songs.
I'm very interested in this, though. Have you never been shot down by a girl you really liked? Or had your heart broken in any way? I find that no matter how many times I hear a sad song about a girl, it's always slightly different. No one's experiences with these things are quite the same, but they have enough common threads that most people can relate to them.
Just my thoughts on the matter.
