Bonnaroo 2010

Gaslight among many others will be playing in Manchester, TN June 10-13. First show, as of now, that is the closest to the release date of American Slang. I'm crossing my fingers that they get added to Sasquatch! Festival. Hopefully they will be making their way through the festival circuit this summer.

So far the lineup looks pretty good.

AWESOME!!! I'm so pumped for this. Right around the new album, should get some nice new stuff!

They're still announcing acts, but it looks like of the 4 headline acts, 3 of them are: Dave Matthews Band, Jay-Z, and Kings of Leon. By looking at the rest, it doesn't look like anyone else is capable of headlining the show.

I initially thought, maybe Weezer? But they didn't even headline the Blink-182 shows they did. No way they can do Bonnaroo.

The Flaming Lips with Stardeath and White Dwarfs performing "The Dark Side of the Moon" is going to be sick!

from what i read, weezer wanted to open up for blink 182, I defiantly think they can headline a festival.

Nah, the Flaming Lips aren't headline material. I'm with you, I love them, but this is a serious festival. The only people that headline these things are acts that are CURRENTLY selling out Arenas. Flaming Lips are amazing live, but they don't have ENOUGH mainstream interest. It's part of the reason why they are playing the Wellmont Theatre and not, say, Madison Square Garden.... Weezer was a headline act, but there time has passed too. Although I'd love to see them.

With that said, I'm pretty sure the rumor is Stevie Wonder is the 4th.

well they had Phish last year so I think Flaming Lips could be a possibility.

Phish was in huge demand though...their reunion shows were selling out like crazy. Not that I have any knowledge of the Flaming Lips or how these places pick their headliners.

Phish headlined two nights, Flaming Lips don't draw even close to what they do. Everyone that can go, should. Although I wouldn't expect a great set from Gaslight. They will probably get stuck on the main stage at like 2 PM. Unless they are doing it differently this year there are only three headliners (none on Thursday). And they look like Jay, Kings, and DMB. The best sets happen after the headliners many of those will go to dance/electronic acts like deadmau5, Bassnectar, and LCD Soundsystem. Wale and Manchester Orchestra will probably get stuck on Thursday.

Also, all the heavy acts will probably play sunday on one of the smaller stages (Isis, Baroness, The Melvins).

bonnaroo > coachella right now. hopefully when sasquatch releases their lineup next week it'll be up to par. This is the best lineup i've seen for an american fest in a long time....

well coachella is only three days long compared to bonnaroo.
I am more looking forward to seeing the Lollapalloza line up.

Yeah tickets have been selling fast for lolla when they go onsale. I expect some huge names from lolla. Smashing Pumpkins are rumored every year. I wouldn't be suprised if they got like Paul Mccartney, Prince, Elton John, or David Bowie.

Gaslight, Lucero, Rise Against, Against Me, Dropkick Murphys, TMBG.

Thats a pretty selection there.

i'd go for those bands, but im not a huge fan of festivals. too much work and standing around in the sun sweating and getting other people's sweat on you for a 20 to 30 minute set of your favorite band, and a chance that a couple of the bands you went to see will be playing separate stages at the same time...
ill save my money for their individual tours!

FUCKKKKK. I wish I was going this year. The schedule is up here http://mindreader.bonnaroo.com/bonnaroo-2010-schedule.html . They have acts scheduled from 11 AM to 6 AM. The festival I'm going to only goes until 3:30 AM ( http://www.schedule.summercampfestival.com/index.html ) . Gaslight got the shaft. Kevin Devine and Frank Turner got an even bigger shaft.

So who got lucky and is going.

Also, lolla is a huge letdown this year.

Gaslight got totally shafted. (Only an hour set, in the early afternoon, scheduled against Conan)

They should move them to after Rise Against on Sunday. Then you could see Lucero, Against Me, Dropkick Murphys, Rise Against and Gaslight without having to move. (Honestly don't see how Gaslight isn't there to being with. Seems like the put the otherguys togeather for a reason. If DBM has some contract saying no one plays on top of them, move Japandroids (whoever they are) to gaslight's spot and push Lucero and Against me up in the bill. Then you have five great bands in a row.

Gaslight getting shafted makes less sad I can't go. On the other hand, that Sunday lineup makes me almost consider finding a way just to go on Sunday.
