HOLY SHIT. I downloaded it today (yeah yeah, downloading's bad, I have no money, I'll put it on my "to buy" list) and it's fucking incredible. I knew "Overcome" from the Rock Against Bush comp, which is actually how I was introduced to their music.

| Also check out Babylon Party Machine, which is also him, but it's techno-y. It's in his top friends. Not ska, but...related to the previous post, so, yeah. | |

| i've heard of 80hd, but i don't think i've listened to them. i'll check them out and as for ska-p, i get the feeling that if they didn't sing in spanish, i'd absolutely love this band. they're pretty good still though | |

| Last Martyrs of a Lost Cause added 4 new songs to their myspace off their new album, Sunrays to Starlight: http://www.myspace.com/lastmartyrsofalostcause
Another Rainy Night is probly the greatest song ever: "Another rainy night with my own reflection, starin' back at me in this empty intersection. I'm a polaroid photograph that's fading, another lost soul washed away down these lonely streets. In this lonely city, I didn't know I was drowning until the world blurred all around me."
Letting Go is also an awesome song. i've been waiting for this album for about a year and a half. the live vids on youtube are sick, and they said the album would be out in early '08...
In other news, for fans of The Skatastrophes, their lead singer Max Stern recorded 7 solo acoustic songs, available free for download on his myspace:
http://www.myspace.com/maxstern
i wasn't expecting a whole lot from these songs, but they're actually really good

- ok, this is for ska.
this is my summary of checking out the bands i was recommended.
don't dig Reel Big Fish much less than jake is good, i like The Science of Selling Out, Does Lion City Still Roar, and The Rest Of My Life Streetlight Manifesto is pretty good no old Goldfinger stuff on myspace haha Operation Ivy sounds pretty good mad caddies are cool, singers got an awesome voice don't dig Madness either the jb conspiracy is better than the last two, but i'm not too interested big d and the kids table are not what i was expecting...pretty alright though.
Reel Big Fish are very fun, download 'Cheer Up' or 'Favourite Noise' albums You've got it right with Less Than Jake, check out 'Losing Streak' and 'Hello Rockview' Streetlight Manifesto are very good, check out their latest album 'Somewhere In The Between' Goldfinger are alright, older songs are better though. Operation Ivy, are beyond fantastic pretty much inventing the genre. Get your hands on their only album 'Energy' fucking brilliant!! Mad Caddies are cool, and their lead singer has got an awesome voice Madness are classic UK ska, songs like 'Baggy Trousers' 'House of Fun' 'Lions Den' just grab a greatest hits or someting! 'IT MUST BE LOVE' JB Conspiracy are pretty good, young new and from UK Try them again? I love Big D. Get hold of 'Strictly Rude' and listen to the track 'L.A.X'

| I'd say for Big D, you can't go wrong with How It Goes, Good Luck, half of Strictly Rude, and The Gypsy Hill EP For Madness, check out One Step Beyond. that song alone got me into ska and for RBF, Turn the Radio Off is definitely the place to start
but seriously, Last Martyrs of a Lost Cause: http://www.myspace.com/lastmartyrsofalostcause listen to Another Rainy Night and Letting Go...so good
and listen to Don't Take It Personal and Throwing January Away on their purevolume: http://www.purevolume.com/lastmartyrsofalostcause
