| ok, this is for ska. this is my summary of checking out the bands i was recommended. don't dig Reel Big Fish much less than jake is good, i like The Science of Selling Out, Does Lion City Still Roar, and The Rest Of My Life Streetlight Manifesto is pretty good no old Goldfinger stuff on myspace haha don't really care for Mighty Mighty Bosstones Operation Ivy sounds pretty good The Suicide Machines are pretty cool, definitely different than this other stuff mad caddies are cool, singers got an awesome voice mustard plug are pretty good, sound alot like these other guys though mu330 i'm not a fan of catch 22 is ehhhh, the oldest stuff they got on the space is from 04 though. TASOB are pretty sweet, i'm digging the more punk influence not digging Save Ferris, even though it's a sweet name not digging The Specials either don't dig Madness either wtf, not too big on The Toasters either. The Skatastrophes are pretty sweet High School Football Heroes are alriiiight, might wanna check them out further illScarlett is ok lost martyrs of a lost cause is ok the jb conspiracy is better than the last two, but i'm not too interested not too hot on Suburban Legends, sounds like they'd be fun live though the planet smashers is aight big d and the kids table are not what i was expecting...pretty alright though. westbound train are good, ic ouldn't see myself listening to them though less than jake, streetlight manifesto, maybe Operation Ivy, Mad Caddies, The Arrogant Sons of Bitches, and The Skatastrophes are the only ones I could see myself actually listening to a pretty regular basis basically. i absolutely LOVE some Sublime songs while i think some other ones are pretty lame.

| If you're gonna listen to Catch, you have to listen to Keasbey Nights, which is their first album, from 1998. It's necessary. | |

| I like Catch's version better except for a few snippets here and there (the intro to "Walking Away" is undeniably cleaner and better on Streetlight's version) and I would definitely recommend listening to it first and then listening to the Streetlight version if you want after that. | |

| Catch 22's version is 10x better imo, but then again, I heard it long before I heard SM's. SM's version lacks energy and heart, though it's still good. What hurt them is playing the same songs 8 years later, when their lives are completely different, and they aren't 18 anymore. Also, "Alone In a Crowd" by Catch 22 is very good.
For The Suicide Machines, you gotta hear their first album, "Destruction by Definition."
Suburban Legends' new stuff is like disco ska, but their old stuff was like RBF, so you probly wouldn't like them. Seen 'em twice, and they are great fun live though.
ASOB's "Three Cheers For Disappointment" is like the "Nevermind" for the 2000s, except no one's even heard of them.
HSFH's first album "Close Only Counts In Horseshoes and Handgrenades" is like Taking Back Sunday meets ska, and it's really good.
Op Ivy had Tim and Matt from Rancid, and their album "Energy" is a must listen.
For LTJ, listen to "Losing Streak," then "Hello Rockview," then "Anthem." And Goldfinger's first two albums "S/T" and "Hang-Ups" are really good.
And I can get you links for any albums you want if you can't find them.

| Yeah I have both their albums. Their first is pretty good, their second's alright. I love songs like "Angry Nintendo Nerd" and "Pride," but I'm not too big a fan of them. | |

| all right, just listened to their myspace stuff again. "Process" is really good, "Laugh Track" is alright. but with a song like "Fort," I just feel like if they played that song with a ska beat instead of a straight up punk beat, then they'd be a lot better and a lot more original. they just kinda sound too much like against all authority for me. i'll dig up their albums though, give 'em another listen. | |

| nah i'd never heard of them before you. i just checked them out though, they're pretty sweet. i checked that No Outlet band too, they're nice as well.
Three Cheers for Dissapointment is a fucking sick album. the drummer for this band is nuts.
oh yeah, what about Rx Bandits? they have some ska influence I think, especially in their earlier stuff. | |

| RX Bandits are greatttt. Not straight up ska, but definitely...kind of ska? I'm really bad at defining genres. In any case, they're fucking great. I have "Progress" and "...And Then The Battle Begun," which is a lot more experimental than "Progress." But they're both pretty amazing albums. | |

| Aw man, you gotta check out The Resignation. It's the album before "...And The Battle Begun" but it's way better to me. More punk feel to it than Battle. | |
